To be fair the rest of the country said the same thing every time we got a 5 star to visit the last ten years.

I’ll counter with, Imagine trying to rationalize the mind of a 19 year old while he’s being offered millions and grown men are making promises they likely won’t keep.

Unfortunately you're correct. When the call came last year he was locked up. That situation was weird all the way around. I was surprised he stayed. Lots of shenanigans lots of dumb choices, lots of young adult drama if you feel me. He's a grounded kid that doesn't like the lime light at all. He'd rather hang out with small groups and play video games. We forgot these are young men. Not adults. He's got some really good people in his life but even that didn't stop some bad choices.

I'm going to have to disagree about him being grounded. Kids who are grounded don't make immature actions/decisions time and time again. People who are grounded are self-aware with strong values and not easily swayed. Actions in HS, last time in the portal, and this time show otherwise. He hasn't learned or changed his ways. Quiet/introverted is not the same as grounded. It sounds like he's immature to me. Many guys his age are, which doesn't necessarily make him a bad kid, but when you're asking for the money he's asking, you can't be immature anymore. If you want to treat this like a "business" and get paid, you have to act like someone who's mature enough for it.

It he pulled a “no show” I hope we move on. We aren’t at the level anymore where Dalvin Cook can tell us he couldn’t make our camp because he got drunk the night before at a party and we still kissed his a$$ until the end…(For those of you who remember that BS story from back in the day).
