Bring in someone to help? In the football world we call that fired.

I could tell something was off going back to Coley's first game as OC against FAU last year. I found it strange that with all the talent at receiver that we struggled in the passing game. Morris had just come of a surprisingly prolific year in 2012 yet there didn't seem to be any rhythm or flow to the offense. The route combinations didn't seem to make any sense. We would run all verticals without any complimentary routes underneath. The blocking scheme didn't match the personnel and so on.
Fast forward to today. After hoping all offseason that it was Morris's inadequacies that stunted the 2013 offense and that a change at QB to go along with our embarrassment of riches at the skill positions would lead to an efficient and explosive offense we have finally come to terms with the truth. James Coley is grossly incompetent! Given the talent he is surrounded with makes his performance or lack thereof even more perplexing. How could a FBS coordinator at a program like UM be so inept?
What compounds the matter is the fact that there is absolutely no one on this staff who is even remotely qualified to assist him. Very disturbing and an indictment of Al Golden's ability to run a program of this caliber. Sadly it is becoming painfully obvious that after you strip away all the hype, the 8 pillars, the hashtags, the buzzwords and the promotional videos, that Golden and his entire staff are all in way over their collective heads.

I was so upset when Jedd left. I remember when it was announced he was going to the Jags....I literally yelled WHAT!!! in my office. Everything thought someone died in my family the way I reacted. lol. James is a great recruiter, but he can't coach a pop warner's team offense to save his life. This whole notion of "not opening the playbook" is delusional. We've seen the playbook...period. This coaching staff holds no accountability and they constantly make excuses for their lack of ability to coach.
The U will play Arkansas State on Saturday. Fans should pay close attention to the offense, and to James Coley. Fans need to start seeing improvement, and fast. This team needs to have a functioning offense if it wants to contend for a conference title, and cannot overcome an offensive coordinator who is unable fulfill the basic requirements of his job. Coley is a great recruiter, but a man who is allegedly drawing the highest salary ever given to an assistant at Miami has to do more than recruit. This situation has the ability to torpedo the Golden tenure, and needs to be closely monitored.
Starting to think there was a reason Jimbo wouldn't let him call plays on Saturdays.
