Daily Progress: Cavaliers not Intimidated by Canes

It seems like almost every week someone says "this is the most important game of Golden's career." I'm not going to go that far, but this game is HUGE to see where we are as a program under Golden.

IMO, if we beat the isht out of UVA, that means the players bought in. It means that they, the players, think we are on the brink of returning to relevance. After hanging tough with FSU, they can run with that momentum, or they can fold. If they fold, that makes it yet another year where a Golden team collapses down the stretch, which isn't a good sign moving forward.

In some way I think it was good timing for a loss to FSU. Obviously we want to beat them every year, but at least it didn't matter this year. It's not like it was a heartbreaking loss that ended our season - we were already on the outside looking in, and that was just to get to the ACCCG.

If history is any indication, we sleepwalk through and possibly even lose. If the team comes out fired up, I will be excited for next year.

LOL. To "see where we are as a program." As if we've never blown out a ****ty ACC team under Al Golden.

The 'wait and see next year' crowd will talk up the beginning of the 2015 season as Golden having a fresh record with this team and new recruits, and discount the previous four years of ineptitude. Any positive showing on the field, regardless of the quality of the opponent, will then be discussed as us turning the corner and the 'one more year' talk will increase in volume as we inevitably lose against the stronger opponents and our annual loss to an average opponent.

It's a Canes thing. You wouldn't understand.

Yep. Obviously the kids bought in when we beat the **** out of Pitt last year, too! It only led to us getting blown out against Louisville 2x in a row.

Yep. That Pitt game last year was a big "buy in" moment.

We shut them out. London is fired after the season. UVa is so impressed with our defense that they hire Doritos. Golden goes back to the well and hires his friend London to be DC and London brings with him an attacking 4-3 defense, Chip West, Mike Archer and some of those D-Line savages that grow out there in Virginia.
Um....London's background as a DC is running a 3-4. The same kind of 3-4 that Golden ran at UVA, and that NoD runs here now.

Um, you do know why Al and London ran a 3-4 at UVA....right? They were running their Groh's defense.
Um, you do know why Al/London ran a 3-4 while coaching under Groh, right? Because Groh learned the 3-4 from Bill Parcells.

/No ****, sherlock
/I can do this all day
/I'm bringing slashy back

With so many slashes, I don't even know what we're arguing about.
Exactly.

/my master plan worked

Unless UVA is suiting up Ramsey and Winston we are going to smash these guys. Then all the mopes (you know the ones that are saying London is going to out coach Golden) will come on here and tell us how bad UVA is.

Duke lost last Saturday. Had Miami beaten FSU, I believe they would have been in control, or **** near close, to winning the Coastal.

Virginia is 4-6, regardless of the outcome of the game they are bad.

This was exactly what I was hoping wouldnt happen. Had we won tonight, I would have been ok with Golden. But this is now yet another year that we crumble to a lesser team down the stretch. Unacceptable.

IMO, a good coach wouldve had them ready tonight. Aside from the GT loss, I could stomach the rest of the losses. I posted earlier this week that it was a true frosh on the road,

Tonight, we were favored agaist a lesser opponent, and he couldnt get the W. I have no faith in him moving forward.

For the record, I stand by my timing. I cant knock those that called for his head earlier, but I still think it was a bit premature, considering the circumstances. But we just lost all the positive momentum we built, and that doesnt fly. Oh, and I lost close to 5K betting the in the past 2 weeks, including a season bet of over 7.5 wins.

Consider me a doomer, although I wont post like a *******.
