Daily Progress: Cavaliers not Intimidated by Canes

From day one this has been a trap game for us. Coming off a big rivalry game going on the road against a team that's had a lot of success against us and is coming off a bye week. Golden and the staff earn their money this week if we pull this out.

6-4 teams don't have "trap" games.

Pass rush???? Lol really? Pretty sure FSU pass rush is better than theirs.....
Yes--pass rush, you ignorant ****.

UVA is tied for 24th in the country with 28 sacks on the year. They hit Squinston repeatedly a few weeks ago, and we barely got home on him. Henry Coley has 8 sacks on the year, tied for 15th in the country. Jon Tenuta, their DC, loves to bring blitzes (especially using Henry Coley) from multiple fronts.

As for F$U's pass rush being better, by comparison: F$U is tied for 102nd in the nation with 16 sacks on the year. F$U's leading sack man is Eddie Goldman with 4, good enough to be out of the top 100 in the country individually.

But sure--F$U's is better.
Tenuta loves to beat up QBs. If you can hold up at all against the rush there will be receivers open everywhere.

But I won't be surprised to see Ryan Williams make a heroic appearance in this game. They'll be looking to hurt Kaaya. They beat Marquise Williams half to death the week before we played UNC.

They got to Jameis numerous times and kicked his ***.

Walford could have a big day with the way they blitz.

Yep, just hope Kaaya gets out of this one unscathed. UVA broke Jacory in half a few years back.

Perfect world scenario: We smash them. London is fired after the season. UVA is so impressed that they hire Golden.

We shut them out. London is fired after the season. UVa is so impressed with our defense that they hire Doritos. Golden goes back to the well and hires his friend London to be DC and London brings with him an attacking 4-3 defense, Chip West, Mike Archer and some of those D-Line savages that grow out there in Virginia.
Um....London's background as a DC is running a 3-4. The same kind of 3-4 that Golden ran at UVA, and that NoD runs here now.

Um, you do know why Al and London ran a 3-4 at UVA....right? They were running their Groh's defense.

It seems like almost every week someone says "this is the most important game of Golden's career." I'm not going to go that far, but this game is HUGE to see where we are as a program under Golden.

IMO, if we beat the isht out of UVA, that means the players bought in. It means that they, the players, think we are on the brink of returning to relevance. After hanging tough with FSU, they can run with that momentum, or they can fold. If they fold, that makes it yet another year where a Golden team collapses down the stretch, which isn't a good sign moving forward.

In some way I think it was good timing for a loss to FSU. Obviously we want to beat them every year, but at least it didn't matter this year. It's not like it was a heartbreaking loss that ended our season - we were already on the outside looking in, and that was just to get to the ACCCG.

If history is any indication, we sleepwalk through and possibly even lose. If the team comes out fired up, I will be excited for next year.

This is the least important CFB game ill ever watch. Two bad ACC teams out of the hunt, playing to see which coach gets fired faster. Lmao at gaging the players buy-in.

So if Duke loses another game this year, how many ******** are going to say it didn't matter that we lost to FSU anyway since GT would have had the tiebreaker against us? This all goes to show just how important that loss to GT was. Atrocious preparation and coaching by this staff that we lost to a GT team that lost to Duke and UNC.

LOL. To "see where we are as a program." As if we've never blown out a ****** ACC team under Al Golden.

The 'wait and see next year' crowd will talk up the beginning of the 2015 season as Golden having a fresh record with this team and new recruits, and discount the previous four years of ineptitude. Any positive showing on the field, regardless of the quality of the opponent, will then be discussed as us turning the corner and the 'one more year' talk will increase in volume as we inevitably lose against the stronger opponents and our annual loss to an average opponent.

It's a Canes thing. You wouldn't understand.

Yep. Obviously the kids bought in when we beat the **** out of Pitt last year, too! It only led to us getting blown out against Louisville 2x in a row.

That sums it up. This dude is claiming the fsu game, with everything still on the line, wasn't all that important, but this game against a **** team with a .500 and nothing on the line is huge. LULZ
