Daily Progress: Cavaliers not Intimidated by Canes

Duke will break Anderson's record. Other than that there is no point in watching this game.

I will probably tune in just to watch this, then turn it off once it is done, regardless of the score either way. I just don't give a **** anymore about this season.

Perfect world scenario: We smash them. London is fired after the season. UVA is so impressed that they hire Golden.

We shut them out. London is fired after the season. UVa is so impressed with our defense that they hire Doritos. Golden goes back to the well and hires his friend London to be DC and London brings with him an attacking 4-3 defense, Chip West, Mike Archer and some of those D-Line savages that grow out there in Virginia.

quin blanding is gonna be a problem
If UVA used him the same way F$U uses Jalen Ramsey, I'd agree. But they don't, so as long as we don't throw to him in double-coverage, we'll be alright.

I'm more worried about their pass rush.

Pass rush???? Lol really? Pretty sure FSU pass rush is better than theirs..... and I think our receivers go off.... they will try to key on Walford puttin blanding on him and that leaves one on one for either Coley or Dorsett...... 3 TDs and 300+ for Kaaya

Um....London's background as a DC is running a 3-4. The same kind of 3-4 that Golden ran at UVA, and that NoD runs here now.

Yes--pass rush, you ignorant ****.

UVA is tied for 24th in the country with 28 sacks on the year. They hit Squinston repeatedly a few weeks ago, and we barely got home on him. Henry Coley has 8 sacks on the year, tied for 15th in the country. Jon Tenuta, their DC, loves to bring blitzes (especially using Henry Coley) from multiple fronts.

As for F$U's pass rush being better, by comparison: F$U is tied for 102nd in the nation with 16 sacks on the year. F$U's leading sack man is Eddie Goldman with 4, good enough to be out of the top 100 in the country individually.

But sure--F$U's is better.

Um... Mike London doesn't run Al Golden's two-gap defense.

THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN:

"For Al Groh's nine seasons as head coach, Virginia's base defense was the 3-4. Mike London replaced Groh after the 2009 season, and Reid took over as defensive coordinator. Virginia shifted to a 4-3 scheme, and several players changed positions, including Reynolds, Ausar Walcott, Matt Conrath and Cam Johnson."

Go back and watch video of UVA playing when London took over AS THE DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR HIMSELF, numbnuts. He still ran multiple fronts, and most of it was 3-4. Need a refresher? Dig thru Chris Long's highlights from 2007 vs Maryland (with London as his DC), tell me what front they're running:

That looks REAL familiar.

LMAO at "the nail in the coffin"... You quoted London replacing Groh as HC, and hiring a guy in Reid that implemented 4-3 principles. All that means is that London hired a guy and let him implement the system that the DC wanted.

They now have Jon Tenuta as DC and he runs a 4-3, which explains the depth chart you tried to slap me in the face with, and missed. Look at half of our depth charts the past few years that listed us as a 4-3, but we were running 3-4 most of the time. That didn't mean ****.

There's no game to be played here. If London stepped down from HC to take a DC position, he'd likely run the same 3-4 bullsh1t that Golden/NoD have. That's why your idea was dumb to start with.

Call it the cold bowl...Va will take away the electricity to the sideline heaters and win without mittens or muffs..

So every time Mike London has had the final say on what kind of defense to run, he has chosen to run a 4-3 but if he was hired as a DC, he would choose, out of his own volition, to run the Golden/Doritos 3-4, because he ran it for Al Groh 7 years ago? I can't follow your logic.

Now, if you would have stated that Golden would force his DC to run the Golden/Doritos 3-4 **** plate special, I could see your point.

Anyways, this discussion has gone way too far down the rabbit hole but thanks for the name-calling, stay awesome!

It's not that hard. When London was a DC, he ran a 3-4. Smart money says that if he went to a DC position under a HC that wants to run a 3-4 (Golden), that he wouldn't be "packing an aggressive 4-3" like you said. Doesn't matter what London has "run" on D as a HC. His coordinators have run what he's allowed them to run. My guess--he likely wouldn't get that opportunity under Golden with his preferences being what they are.

See, you do get my logic. And then you combine that with the only time London was ever a DC in his career that he ran a 3-4 just like Golden's...you see why I called out your silly "aggressive 4-3" claim.

Anyways, this discussion has gone way too far down the rabbit hole but thanks for the name-calling, stay awesome!
Stay ****y!!!

This game won't even be close.

We destroy UVag

I see us struggling with an emotional letdown after the FSU game. I dont see us destroying them.

The only way this will change if someone on UVA starts running his mouth off somewhere in the pressers

This team is let down right now, and the only thing that can change that is to awaken a sleeping giant with a big mouth

Lords knows, if someone had the nerve to say something after what had just happened last weekend I would be absolutely furious out there on that field.
