2003 and 2004 possibly the best Special teams ever at Miami. Devin Hester, Brian Monroe and Jon Peattie, I know Monroe and Peattie weren’t the best ever at Miami, but with Devin Hester I think it puts them at the top.

“The Iceman” Carlos Huerta was the goat kicker, maybe in cfb history. I had the pleasure of seeing him crush the souls of 100,000 Michigan fans when he nailed the game winner (no chip shot either), not to mention executing a perfect onside kick moments before. He consistently hit clutch field goals from 88-91, some of the best teams ever.

Hester and Mack were 2 different kinds of special teams players. I cannot rate one over another because each one could change a game in the blink of an eye. Yet, each one did it in a different way.

Both are legendary.

You need to separate the special team’s roles.

Obviously Hester is the GOAT returner, but Santana is close behind.

Tremaine Mack probably the best kick blocker, but Ed Reed was a stud too.

CJ Richardson would kill people on coverage, and we’ve had a few of those guys.

And we’ve had a number of good kickers and punters.

Let’s not forget this legend from 1991

Borregales disrespect is crazy.
Lol fr someone had to say it i love me Borregales! Hester was a playmaker prob my favorite dynasty mode player on NCAA football. Had em at Wr, CB, KR, PR even rb lol oh ya he had 99 speed too

It’s Hester, but as a Canes fan, there will always be a place in my heart for Tremaine Mack. The blocked punt at WV when the game was all but over, is something I’ll never forget. “It ain’t over til it’s over…” wise words. Thanks Yogi.

Go Canes & Yogi!
