Kid seems fearless to me. I am liking him more and more. Come run though the SMOKE young man. Then Sunday all you have to say is "THE U".

Very, very slanted article from the Gator site, but if you sift through it, even they say he's still committed, but of course refuse to include a quote on his UM commitment, because they can't twist it. Paraphrased:

For as much as Will Muschamp talks about wanting recruits who don't care about depth charts, the depth chart might be his best friend in the recruitment of one four-star 2015 running back.

Dexter Williams has been committed to Miami since April 12. Since Williams pledged to the Hurricanes, Al Golden and Co. has gone out and drawn commitments from two other four-start running backs - Jordan Cronkite and Jordan Scarlett. Both are South Florida natives and thought to be locks to UM.

Questions follow the level of commitment Williams has to Miami, though he refuses to admit any significant drop-off.

"It'd be a good feeling to be in the backfield with them because all of them are great backs and they can do great things," he said. "Wherever you go, there's competition. You've got to beat out your competitor."

A big part of the reason folks are so hesitant to trust Williams' commitment to the Hurricanes is the way the Gators have handled it. Williams admits Florida coaches have amped up their recruitment of him since Miami added two other running backs to its class.

"They're just saying you can get on the field here," Williams said. "We're only taking two. They're taking four. Just think about it." Florida currently does not have a single running back committed for 2015 after taking one in 2014.

Williams comes from a family full of Gators fans, spearheaded by his dad who has been in his ear throughout the recruiting process.

"He has loved the Gators since he was little, and he wants me to be a Gator a lot," Williams said. "So he tells me every morning, 'Be a Gator.' When I told him I was still thinking about it, he said, 'That's the way. That's where I want you to go.'"

Through all of this, Williams continues to say the idea of competing within his own recruiting class does not bother him. He says that despite all the buzz pointing in the other direction, he is a Hurricane for the time being.

How that stands going forward relies on numerous factors, most notably how he plans out future visits and discussions with coaches.

Friday night, Williams was a spectator as Florida held its Friday Night Lights camp inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. It was an opportunity to hear more from coaches and hang out with current players and commits who were in his ear throughout the evening.

As the crowd dwindled late into the evening, Williams was one of the last players remaining outside of The Swamp.

"It was a great experience," Williams. "I got to see top athletes do their thing. It was a great recruiting scene. … Being on the field, it was a great feeling. The stadium is so beautiful."

i love U*** reporters, always biased

Gotta sell those pixels.

i think Dex is not sold on the uf offense. he will probably wait and see how they perform on the field. luckily for us, i see them losing alot of games.

I'd approach it like this if im Miami.

I would make sure Carroll is involved in recruiting him with Hurlie. I would think he is to a degree since he's the recruiting coordinator.

I would get Carroll to use his days at USC and that his dad is Pete Carroll.

I would emphasize to Dexter that he is going to be Miami's Reggie Bush.

That Miami lost their sports King in Lebron, we need a replacement.

17 year old recruits eat that stuff up, and you have to be creative.

I think this kid just has a love for Miami, he's going against everyone. I think we get him and I was a guy that thought we wouldn't. It's them unis

I think what usually happens to UM is happening to Florida right now. Someone that loves the Gaytors, but just wants to leave home and go somewhere else.

It's also a possibility his family is annoying the **** outta him about the Gaytors lol. Seems like they remind him everyday about committing there.

There is **** near zero chance this kid ends up at UM. He's anything but committed.

As long as we don't tank. We play good and win games. I fully expect Williams to be a Cane.
You fully expect it? Consider me comforted.

If we don't tank. And win our division, and show life. Yeah. I expect him to come if that happens. Otherwise, it's up in the air.

You seem really dialed in on Williams. Does ufayg have to win big too in order to get him to flip, or can they have another **** season?

I love you like a son, but I hope sales isn't your livelihood.

I see family pressure being a big issue for Williams commitment but it could work in our favor too. ****, I would get tired of someone telling me the same thing every day.

And a lot of kids in recruiting go with what's hot nowadays. Miami is hot right now. But we could cool off with a bad season. We have momentum. Putting up a lot of W's will work in our favor and forward that momentum. It's all common sense, you want the chick with no **** or the chick with big ****? Right now we got the big ****, he likes to suck on. If that makes sense.

Another factor. UF came off one horrible season. I think more of the reason why he has us #1 right now. We're hotter, look better on the win coloumn.

Like what someone said earlier in this thread, what happened with some kids who liked Miami and burnin us for others, might just be happening to them.

This seems so **** obvious that this kid wants to follow his own path. U*** reporters and his dad are trying so hard to get him to flip but the kid really looks to want to do his own thing and think back to all the kids down here that leave but get local pressure to stay and you cant say that this situation isnt eerily similar

Regarding the local pressure I think that it can really help us more than anybody thinks because seriously when does it get to a point that a kids just annoyed and tired of hearing the same **** everyday? Just think of your gf for example annoying you with the same conversation everyday don't you just look forward more daily to just get away and hear something different? Imo I hope that U*** loses and his dad keeps annoying him because I think Dex will just zone away more and more from U*** to UM
