D Williams reportedly 90% committed

Once you start with the percentages less than 100% and plan on taking visits, it's no longer a commitment. Commitment equals 100% and no visits anywhere. Anything else is fake. Move along.

Orlando (FL) Olympia High School and Cane commitment Dexter Williams, once a very soft commitment, now says he's "really leaning toward Miami."

He says there's a "90 percent chance" he winds up attending UM.

"They just really want me to be a Cane," said Williams, whose primary recruiter is Hurlie Brown. "I didn't realize I was one of the top prospects they had on their list. They told me I can make a lot of things better there. They really want me to sign early so I can get there, get a chance and play in the spring."

Williams says he plans to take some visits, starting with Florida later this month.

"I'll go there July 25th, will go to Miami probably after Florida," Williams said.

He also wants to take an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this summer, and says if he doesn't do that he'll make the Irish an official visit. He also plans to take official visits to Michigan, Ohio State and USC.

He doesn't plan to take an official visit to UM because "I can go there anytime I want."

Williams says a determining factor for him will be how UM's season goes this year.

"I'm waiting to see everything," he says.

He anticipates making up his mind for sure around the end of his season.

Even though he plans to be qualified to graduate early he may wait because "I want to help track win states."

* Asked, should Cane RB commit Mark Walton reclassify to 2015 if that would affect his commitment status, Williams sad, "Not really. Football is all about competition. Anywhere you go you'll still have competition, will compete for that spot. That's what I'm about. I love to compete."

Well, that doesn't bode well.

I imagine that's how a lot of recruits feel. Cautiously optimistic, but if we have a good season the floodgates are gunna open.

If Golden ***** this up we will be set back for more years. We are not getting any younger.

Where's the quote from Williams where he says our record this year will be a determining factor? His quote was that he's looking at everything. The sloppy blogger said Williams is focused on our record. More sloppy and feeble blogging.

recruits need to just stop with percentages. i bet they don't even know what they are and are just repeating what others say

I just realized that <100% means that the percentage will gradually drop over time. A 90% commitment (e.g.) should mean "I'm pretty **** sold on Miami" but instead means "I'm no longer sold on Miami and will continue to lose interest over time."

anything less than 110% with these kids means they aren't very committed. not even 100% means anything anymore

this kid needs to stop ****ing around either remain committed or decommit. Im fine with a prospect taking visits and all that. But all this reminds me of Dalvin with UF and UF fans. dont give me that percentage garbage.

Next article is gonna say as the title: "Williams now 83.567% committed to Miami, but will take visits"

Wouldn't it just be easier if somebody posted a graph showing the daily trends of the Williams commitment? You know, like the trends of the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones? It should be kept up at the top as a sticky.

I need Professor Irwin Corey to break this down for me.

Most people here probably don't know who Professor Irwin Corey is. I don't know if he's been on TV in recent years. Most will assume he's some guy in the UM statistics department.

And another supposedly committed recruit who is not taking an official visit. If that doesn't change then forget about him sticking.

90% committed my ***:

Will Muschamp is known for being the “flipper” of recruits committed elsewhere and he has his eyes set on one in 2015.

That prospect is Miami running back commit Dexter Williams (5-11, 195, Orlando, FL West Orange) who plans to visit Gainesville soon.

“I’m visiting Florida for Friday Night Lights on Friday,” Williams said. “I’m just going up there to enjoy it and have a good time. I just really feel comfortable with everything because it’s like home up there and I’m real comfortable with everyone but I want to talk to the coaches more.”

When Williams visits Florida on Friday he will probably hear a lot from Gator fans but that’s something he has grown used to in Orlando.

“I hear about Florida everyday,” Williams said. “My mom and dad are still pushing Florida for me and I hear about Florida from my parents, from Jalen [Julius] and from the fans in my area. Everyone says go to Florida.”

Not only does Williams here from people around him but he also hears the same message from Will Muschamp when the two talk.

“Coach Muschamp just tells me that I’m a Florida dude,” Williams said. “He says that my family are Gator fans and that I should join Florida and be apart of the family.”

In April Williams surprised Muschamp and everyone around by committing to Miami but he says that isn’t his final decision.

“I’m still weighing everything,” Williams said. “I just want to see the season and then I’ll make my decision. I’ll make my final decision around February.”

One thing that could help Florida is that Williams has a good relationship with Florida-lean Ray-Ray McCloud, who could commit to Florida on July 28th.

“I think Ray-Ray and me together would be a good combination,” Williams said. “We are both good running backs that can play the slot. We are both known to make big plays and he’s a top player in Florida; so getting the opportunity to play with him would be good. I’ve seen what he could do at the Opening and I mean he’s a very good athlete.”

When Williams makes it up to Gainesville on Friday he will not be able to participate in the workouts due to an injury.

“I had a bad sprained ankle this spring,” Williams said. “I wasn’t able to work out at the Opening and I won’t be able to work out at Friday Night Lights.”

INSIDER TAKE: If Florida shows well on the field this season then I think it’s very possible Williams ends up in the Orange and Blue due to his family and himself growing up fans of the program. If Florida has a bad year I could see Williams going out of state for college.
