D Line

Very strange how a lot of posters on here aren't picking up that we rushed with 3 all night long. If you watched at home Herbie even spelled it out for you. We rushed 3 -- all to his right side (his preferred side) -- and when he rolled left we had Garvin waiting for him.

I assume that was directed at me. It wasnt a debate question, it was just curiosity to chat up some football and peoples thoughts. Its strange we root for the same team and people want to be ****s to each other for no reason. If you didnt like the post keep it moving, not that serious playa.

The dt’s are a big drop off from Willis , he caused instant chaos , we’ll be fine against the run but the pass rush won’t be the same . Mainly because there’s not a special guy inside causing instant pressure. This group isn’t even up to the 2017 dt’s.

I’m not nearly as concerned about the de’s , even though when we did bring four they didn’t get pressure. Most of the pressure we got was because franks was holding on to the ball too long.

Sorry OP. I got to work on being a better me.

With the D Line only getting 1 sack, would you guys keep the rotation the same or switch it up at all? Ive seen some of the posts on grading out, just curious perspective of others? Should Hill, Rousseau, or Harvey get more burn? Or would you guys keep it the same?

I noticed Garvin spent a lot of time spying on Franks instead of rushing in. That was part of the game plan given Frank's running ability. Patchan did an excellent job against the run. I'm sure the rotations will be different depending on the team we play and the situation.

THE D-ENDS WERE SPYING ON FRANKS MOST OF THE NIGHT, THATS WHY THE SACK NUMBERS WERE DOWN. PLUS WE SHOULD OF HAD 4 SACKS BUT COULDNT BRING HIM DOWN
That one where 2 or 3 guys had his legs wrapped up for what would have made it 3rd and 30 and instead he turned it into a 10yd gain made me want to throw my TV through a window. Tackling was absolutely atrocious by both teams on saturday.

Our D did very well vs them. Other than the broken tackle toney run and the blown coverage on the long pass, they really didnt do sh-t all night. I thought our run stopping was phenomenal and like it's been pointed out the focus on that is why we didnt have a big sack total.

definitely a lot of area of opportunity with fundamental football... tackling, delay of game/false start.

Nesta needs to show up when that foot heals. We need a bully at DT. It makes the other two layers look better.

Agree. The tackling Saturday was maybe the worst I've ever seen. There should legit be something in the penal code that criminalizes the attempted 'tackle' Al Blades Jr made vs Toney on that early broken TD run. WTF was that?!?

He’s going to be ready by or the week of game 3 imo. In an Ig live video he said he puts pads back on in 3 weeks the other day

Not just on blades. Pinckney, hall and carter missed tackles on that play too. Definitely needs to be improved and when you get to the qb take him down to the ground

Rosseau, Garvin and even Patchan had solid games. I missed the push up the middle in the late 3rd quarter, but that 1 sack is definitely misleading. Florida was held to what, 60 yards rushing? Thats the DL doing its job to me....

Oh no doubt, there were a TON of unacceptable missed tackles on that play, but Blades was the most egregious. He didn't have any blocker to shed or anything. Literally there waiting for Toney with no one between him and got pushed away like he was a 10yr old child. It was awful. Blades played well Saturday, I thought, so this isn't meant to be some Blades bash. But that was one of the worst missed tackles I've ever seen.

People clamoring for Willis are crazy to me, the DTs were amazing for us this game, y’all wanted Willis 5 yard upfield shaking hands with the QB while the RB was 6 yards down the field?

We were clearly more concerned with his legs than his arm. And for good reason, I think. We had him in the backfield twice for sacks and didn't bring him down. He threw mostly quick stuff outside of the long one to Hammond that I believe he was rolling out on. Not having an interior pass rush hurt more than the ends IMO

Gregory Rousseau flashed multiple times and finished with 1 sack 2 tfls. He needs to be on the field more
