D Line Rotation

Those two young DEs are going to blow up this year.

Can’t wait.

Rousseau has been talked up as first round pick.
Hill was named the best draft prospect in the ACC by Lindy’s.
Jon Garvin was named a preseason first-team All-ACC player by several publications.
Scott Patchan is a really solid player and has spent 5 years in a college weight program. He said the other day he’s 260 and 9% body fat.

If Rousseau really is as good as some people say, that’s an A+ edge rotation.

Has anyone heard or seen how the freshman defensive tackles look in workouts Jalar Holley Harrison-Hunte and Blissett.
They should all redshirt. And I’m not that guy normally, but while there’s some upside, there are no slamdunks in this group.

No slam dunks based on what? Did we think the other freshman were slam dunks before we saw them perform in spring ball for example Payton Nelson Harvey.

Just so excited about our depth on our D front seven, the relentless platooning these dudes in constant waves all game long OMG.

Just when they see a stud leaving for a breather a monster then another one then come the 4th quarter and starters all return like they just deferred the flip for the first series.

This is what I’m pumped about, we’ve got some serious dudes 3-4 lines of first teams rotating.

On paper this DL group has me as excited as I have been since early 2000s. If they play up to potential and rotate in relentless waves, our opponents OL will be warn by 3rd Q. That is a recipe for dominant play that can help us reach exceptional goals. I want to see this group wear out that ***-**** OL and humiliate them to the point where I see tears in their eyes at every TFL & sack. 8/24 is going to give our canes the opportunity to make one **** of a LOUD announcement to CFB. Let's see if we can grab that opportunity by the gayturds balls and RIP

Would not be shocked if Blissett and Hunte bump Miller and Martin off the 3rd team at some point.

Think Miller holds down the 3rd team spot, Blissett and him. Harrison-Hunte and Holley 4th team and Martin on the 8th team.

Really love how we’ve developed and recruited at DE and DT

If the guys we expect to make the leap, do (Nesta, Ford, Rousseau, etc.) we’ll be a DL factory for the NFL once again year after year

The consistent, constant havoc we’ll be able to generate play after play from the DL positions will wear down opponents OL and by 4th quarter time, we should see them amass some impressive sack and TRL totals. Right now I’d put that DL and it’s rotation up against any other team across the nation. They’re going to thrive even more in Baker’s system.

This team should be able to go 5 deep at DT and DE this season. There is a lot of talent on this defensive line and should be able to dominate most offensive lines we face this season.

DE Rotation
1. Jonathan Garvin JR 6-4 250
2. Trevon Hill RSR 6-5 230
3 Scott Patchan RSR 6-6 255
4 Gregory Rousseau RFR 6-6 250
5 Jahfari Harvey FR 6-4 240

DT Rotation
1. Jonathan Ford JR 6-5 300
2. Chigozie Nnoruka RSR 6-2 300
3. Nesta Jade Silvera SO 6-2 305
4. Pat Bethel SR 6-3 285
5. Jordan Miller RFR 6-4 325

You left out the freshmen. I would bet on one or both of the NY kids to see playing time. Hunte is probably the most underated recruit we signed this cycle behind Zion. He had offers from Alabama, Ohio St, Penn St, LSU and Texas A&M. Blissett didn't have as impressive and offer list but if you just watch his tape it's impossible to not be impressed. He's a bully, and he's a smart kid so he'll likely get up to speed quick.

The loss last year was one of the best things to prepare us for this opener.

I have no problem in showing that replay of how to play D and most of all how we weren’t ready.

This D is ready .

Actually yes, I (and many) felt Payton and Harvey were going to be studs. Now Zion was a pleasant surprise, and obviously no recruit is truly a "slam dunk," that's just me using shorthand essentially, but my point is that none of our 3 DT's are elite recruits that have people thinking "can't miss." Hunte maybe the closest, and I really like him, but Holley had almost no other offers if I remember right. And Blissett has potential, but would it really shock anyone if 4 years came and went without him ever really making an impact?

Again, I'm not one of those guys who thinks he knows the future or that the ratings services are always right. All 3 could end up studs. But imo none of the 3 are instant impact guys. I expect all will redshirt unless we're dealing with multiple injuries.

Jordan Miller is gonna be a plesant suprise this season
Just had the same thought. Everyone keeps talking about his natural abilities. Hopefully, we start seeing that this season and then he can vy for a starting spot next season.

Also, it's very clear that we've got some work to do on the DL recruiting-wise in the next 6 months. We really need to bring in some horses who will help us keep production going on the D side of the ball, while we reinvent ourselves on the O.

Well Blissett is a 4 star and hunte had offers from bama and OSU which he turned down for Miami and I just feel based on the pulse of this recruiting board it doesn’t get talked about enough. I guess because their not from Florida the jury is still out on them. I have watched the scrimmages more than enough times to come to a conclusion that the only defensive tackles that flashed in my opinion is nesta and Ford. Just feel like you have to put your best guys in the rotation and seniority shouldn’t always be a factor.

Moreover my perspective is from a person whose coached for over 10 years at the Highschool level with two kids going pro with a specialization in coaching defensive linemen.

Wow so much going on Canes loading up activity I’ve forgot Blissett oh what a beast oh Lord .

Looking at this year and next year , tell me we can’t make a serious run not saying this year yes we’ll be in the mix causing havoc, but next year PLEASE this team will be in the front row for a title shot .

Do you think Hunte really had a Bama offer?? I don't. And maybe he did, I don't know the kid or his family, but if you coached ball for 10 yrs you know kids don't have true (commitable) offers from all the schools they often list.

Again, I like him, I'm just not as high on our DT class overall as many here are. I'd have probably given us a B- or thereabouts. I really like Hunte, Blissett has potential, and I would say Holley is more of a longshot to ever really make an impact here. But none of that means sht as kids surprise (both good and bad) every year. Hope they're all studs in the end.
