D$ I NEED YOUR HELP

To me the list is long and disguished like my Johnson. Transfer portal is bottom tier. The bag game bama and UGA ran for a decade killed the game moreso.

Why do you hate the transfer portal or NIL?

Without it, we had ZERO chance of being able to get anywhere close to what teams like Georgia and Alabama were doing in terms of acquiring talent.

At least now, we are somewhat approaching their talent level, or at least general SEC level of talent acquisition. Not all the way there yet, but approaching it.

I’m not saying the transfer portal is perfect, it’s not, but it’s helped to somewhat level the playing field.

If this combo made Saban retire, then you know that it is having said effect.

Saban picked up his ball and decided to go home when he didn’t have an overwhelming talent acquisition advantage.

So no personal offense to you OP, but wanting to go back to the way we were is absolutely stupid. That means scratching and clawing to get maybe 15 to 20 range of recruiting rankings, and that’s in a good year, while picking up table scraps, and the big boys get to pay the best talent under the table, or however they pay them, and we have to take what’s left over.

No ******* way, thank you very much.

EDIT: I know I’m conflating NIL and transfer portal, but to me they’re inexorably bound. Because the transfer portal wouldn’t be what it is without NIL and vice versa.

All valid points. It has helped us. But it needs to flatten out. It's going in a bad direction and soon the whole game will be a litigation. I hope I'm wrong but we're literally headed to a university vs player and it's going to be bad for all involved.
