I saw a bunch fans wearing #6 jerseys Oklahoma jerseys at the Rose Bowl. Why doesn't UM have custom jerseys or a jersey with the number of the team's best player(s)? On fanatics.com, you can get a custom Nike jersey with any number for both UGa and OU.

They're fakes you can get them on Ebay. When we have a player that popular we’ll have them on Ebay as well.
 
Because a player sued the NCAA for using his likeness without paying for it, and won. Miami decided only to sell jersey #s 1 and the current year to avoid lawsuits. Yes a players number is considered his likeness.

Those are their lucky jerseys preventing them from wearing orange or black.
 
As has been stated by multiple posters, the University has made the decision to not issue jerseys that feature the number of stars, because of the concept that the player that wears(and makes that number popular) cannot be legally compensated for that. Therefore, Miami only issues #1 and the particular year jerseys.

Considering that anyone with two working eyes knows that certain numbers are synonymous with certain players, it makes sense. You really think people are running around with Louisville #8 jerseys just because? No, it's because of Lamar Jackson. You really think it's fair he isn't getting a cut of that revenue? Exactly.
 
Wish they'd just sell good numbers instead.
Like seriously instead of only selling number 1 and the current year, why not just sell like number 5, 21, and like 52.

Sounds like u think I was making a judgement about this issue. I wasn’t. Just stating the facts. But since u ask... no. I don’t beleive it’s fair for a player to not be compensated for his likeness enriching someone else.

I have one... it was a bday present. It’s even more glorious in person.
 
It will be widespread before too long. Miami was just getting out in front of the inevitability, as long as the conversation is about authentic jerseys.
