Curious what you think are the odds that Rosier gets pulled at some time during the LSU game

Does wildcat count? I could see Dallas running the cat for a series or two.

This is a great point. I would have said 0%, but if things really aren't working late in the game, I could see this scenario and not because it makes sense from the playbook but because we're losing and Rosier isn't getting the job done.

That said, still super unlikely Rosier gets "pulled."

My prediction:

-Rosier starts and plays whole LSU game.
-Week 2 one of the other guys gets mopup duty. Maybe entire 3rd Q (3rd/4th string also get a look).
-Weeks 3-5 Rosier starts, but we have a legit 2 QB system.
-Your starter for the FSU game will be the starter for the rest of the season.

See I don't understand why people think someone like this is going to happen. I am pretty confident that if Rosier is the QB for LSU he will be the QB until we lose at least 1 game. If we are winning, Richt is not the type of coach that would go with another player even if they are performing better in mop-up duty.

Once the season starts, a back-up quarterback will NOT win the starting position, Rosier will have to lose it. And as mentioned by many in this thread, he will need to lose 1 or two games for that to happen or a blow out. Regardless, it is safe to say if Rosier starts against LSU and Perry or Williams starts at FSU we have lost at least 1 game.

I hope we come into this game popping on all cylinders. I hope when we go on offense that LSU won't be able to get us off the field. I hope we score in every possible way. I hope we put ALL of our offensive talent depth on display and run them off the field. I'm hoping for a complete shutout....with that being said

BUT What I hope will happen and what I think will happen are different

I think that this game will be a defensive struggle minus a couple of big plays. i also feel that both defenses may also score. Turnovers will be the key to this game...and we've got the chain

I think because both defenses may dominate CMR will search for a way to put a spark in our offense.

So I think the odds of Rosier being pulled at sometime during the game at 50%.

It may just be for a series or two unless the sub Kosi, JW or Weldon gets on fire, but it may help Malik get back on track

What do you think?

Coach Richt has diligently taken the last 2 years to build understanding, quality depth, and competition in this offense, and it will be better than the last two years from a conditioning, talent, and execution standpoint. Malik has seen it all and I think he'll come in with more command of what HE needs to do to make the team successful. There's plenty of experience on offense (most depth in over a decade) and most all the 2-deep had their moments to make big plays over the last two seasons. I expect tempo and sharp execution to go with aggressive play-calling and 1 on 1s that force the defense to cover the entire field.

Richt can call any type of game and has the personnel to do whatever he wants. I wouldn't be surprised to seem him give the running game an opportunity to establish themselves against a very physical front, but if he's not getting enough movement he can run RPOs and delayed draws with Malik all day long. He could also go pass-heavy early with tempo and then run 21 set (with PA pass) late if he has a lead; there's no shortage of options with this talented and experienced unit. LSUs D will be in for a long day.

LSU's offensive situation is a lot different in the sense that there's a quite of a bit of newness from the coordinator, to QB, to scheme, and they lost high-volume starters. It's gonna be the first game and it won't be perfect, but we definitely know who we are as a team.

0%. I’m ready for the season to start so these dumba$$ threads slow down. Rosier is our starter. Just face it and move on.

I think he gets pulled by half time ....

But only bc we're drubbing them and Rucht wants to let the young fellas get some work.

6 people disagreed with your post. Nobody liked the contents of your post Bad message. Perhaps you should think harder before posting your next message. This one was a big zero.

I sure hope it's 0%. Sorry, I don't see two bench QB's coming in with zero game experience and expect to dominate against arguably one of the better defenses in the country...not going to happen.

If you plan on pulling your qb 1 on a hair trigger after months of the offseason and fall camp, there is no reason to start the guy in the first place.

It's probably not too likely that we'll see a situation where Malik is named the undisputed starter for LSU & gets pulled because he's struggling, barring something extreme.

We could see Jarren earn reps by lighting it up in camp & Richt go into LSU with Malik as the starter & a plan to give Jarren a series or two to see how he performs. I wouldn't consider this as Rosier "being pulled" if he didn't make it back into the game.

While Richt hasn't traditionally run a 2 QB system (though he did at UGA with Shockley & Greene), this will come down to the talent disparity. It's big enough to the point where it can't be ignored. That's no knock on Malik.

I believe Rosier will absolutely play the season opener from beginning to end(for the most part, not counting if the game gets out of hand one way or the other) IMO, this simply isn't the time to start playing around with a QB rotation. But there are the following games where you might have an opportunity to do so...

Still trying to figure out why Sherriffs got put in against Pitt. He had no business being at Miami and Richt definitely said why did I do this after the first play he came in.

If Rosier gets pulled at any time for any reason, we are losing the game.

LSU's defense ain't no joke. You don't throw a true freshman or a redshirt freshman out there to start against them early in the season on a neutral site that is going to have a hot, but very pro LSU crowd.

Rosier just needs to make the few plays he usually does and keep mistakes to a minimum. If he can do that...push the ball downfield a little bit and not turn it over...we should take this W. I want to see a workmanlike performance. Just win and move on to the next week. No bullshyt type win.
