It's the FOG

I actually wasted my time and listened to most of it live.

I thought Ferman contridicted himself throughout.

2 examples: he said he was worried about All the weight of the program on Kaayas shoulders, but then said you will see rosier in every meaningful game running a spread option package.

The other he hinted toward criticizing the staff ability to bring in talent, then next said well I really like what I see out of the QBs, I like all 4 RBs, I like the top 4 WRs, I like the group of TEs, and I really like the secondary.

I'm not a GF fan, I actually don't like him .....but I didn't think he contradicted himself. He said there's talent at some position groupings but it's pretty much not a Mia caliber roster.

The offense will be on Kayaas shoulders , Rosier coming in to run gimmick plays doesn't make it any lighter on BK. The O will revolve around Brads arm and brain, he has complete control.

I thought he kept it very much realistic.

He also said there's no reason to expect more than eight wins, nothing has changed but lost talent. No staff changes , with questions about coaching still remaining.

I thought it was as honest as I've ever heard him. He's normally quite the homer, protecting the staff.

At least the last time I heard the podcast , sometime last year.

There is reason to expect more than 8 wins since we won 9 games two years with lesser talent and a comparable schedule. Looking at the roster, we do have Miami caliber talent across the board. As everyone has pointed out, OL is the biggest unknown; however, we aren't playing elite defenses in this conference for that to be a major concern against marginal teams. Although we don't have 2001 talent, we do have enough talent to win the ACC, while producing high caliber players for the draft.

We have nowhere near a Miami roster, a handful on O and a handul on D doesn't mean that's a Miami roster.

There's only a handful of game changers , and a lot of questions.

Do we have goon enough talent to win the coastal ? Yes.

But this staff had proven they can't win games against good teams . The only way they could is maybe with a real Miami roster.

Please define "game changers", because Kaaya is certainly one, Coley proved it his freshman year, and Yearby clearly has the potential. Artie and Deon are all-conference caliber players, along with Grace, Chad, and Quan. What's a "real Miami" roster? And please don't name national title teams because nobody is saying we have that type of talent. My point is that we have reason to expect more than 8 wins from this team.

Duke , Dorsett and DP were the only guys I'd consider game changers . That's going on what I've seen ,not on potential.

They were special.

To be a really good program you need more than a few of those guys.

We have guys with potential to be special but potential has been a bad word around here the last few years .

Game changer to me is a guy that's just on another level than the guys around him. Sees the game differently , you can't replace it.

DP saw plays unfolding before anyone else did. I can't count how many times he was the only one who didn't take the bait, the only guy left between the on coming ball carrier and the endzone. Take that away and it scares me , who's there now? Kirby?

Dorsett stayed open, if not for clueless staff and a Fr qb his stats would've been crazy. True definition of a homerun threat.

Duke , well his career speaks for itself.

I love duke i really do. What he did here can never be questioned. But he is no where near as good as mcgahee was here or as good as clinton portis. They are clear 1 and 2 to me. Imagine Mcgahee's numbers here if he would have been number 1 on our depth chart for 3 years. Absolute beast. He didnt deserve that injury. Would have had AP numbers in the NFL before AP.

Pete's seen as much practice as Ferman.

What say you, Pete, specifically about the "pace and quiet" of Miami's practices? Accurate or nah?

I understand your point but those guys production can be replaced, especially when their best performances were against mediocre teams. I would have expected a game changer to have their best performances in the biggest games i.e. Notre Dame, FSU, K State, Louisville etc..... I can't recall either of those guys having a special performance in a big time game. I'm expecting Kaaya to deliver that type of performance this year as he's the clear leader of team on and off the field.
