The thing is, this thread was never about wins and losses, or making the playoffs. Even after the two Ls, the majority of the OPs bullet points still held true.

Naw, if it wasnt stupid to say those things before we seen THIS team on the field, it's not stupid to say after actually seeing them on the field. Also, rather they left us out or not, it would not change one single point the OP made...

Yes it was stupidity to post an eat crow thread on September 13th when the regular season ends around December 1st, regardless of the reason.

Naw. On Sept 13 it was clear Mesidor, the dline, and the defense wasnt mid, Chase Smith was decent in his snaps, and the WR was making plays lead by a freshman

You don’t count a deal as done til it’s signed and it wasn’t close to done. And we didn’t even make it to the ACCCG - thank God Manny Diaz beat UVA in OT last night or we would’ve been left out of the playoffs. But September 13 and come eat crow after 3 games.

You keep going back to wins and losses. Everything he mentioned was about individual play and nothing about how the season will end. At least 5 out of his seven points were correct at the point imo and remained true throughout the season regardless of the two losses and rather or not we made the playoffs.

It was a call out thread after three games. It’s not crow eating time. @JamesQuall and @OriginalCanesCanesCanes made Crow Eating threads today on the 6th of December after we got in to the playoffs. After we have seen a full season of performances. That I get. It isn’t my thing but I get it. But September 13th??? That’s just silly. But you can think what you want and I’ll do the same.

And this was the point of the thread. Guys come here and bash these players as if they are some of the worst young men to every wear football equipment, then when those players do perform on the field everyone needs more time for it to be proven lol.

The truth is by game 4 or 5 it was very clear that the points I made in the OP were obvious. These players were much improved and not as trash as some here wanted to make them out to be.

There is a real sickness on CIS, some guys here just refuse to be happy for this team and I will never understand it.


But as I stated in the OP

• Mark “Put’em on a Stretcher” Fletcher, CIS said he was mid and has no wiggle

He has been more than solid this season when healthy

• The whole WR room, CIS said they were unproven and can’t depend on true freshmen

Baby Jesus and nothing else need to be said lol

• Akheem “the dream” Mesidor, CIS said he was mid and his snaps needed to go to the young guys

Has played his way into the 2-3 round and easily only of the top DEs in the nation

• Chase Smith, CIS said he will never play here and moves like a robot

Saw a good amount of snaps and played well in those snaps.

• Miami defense, CIS said this defense will be ok at best.

#6 scoring Defense in the Nation. That’s a lot better than ok

• Defensive Line, CIS saiid it was mid at best, DT is a major concern, and can Blay even play at this level

This was hands down the best defensive line Miami has had in 20 years or more.

Did you or did you not get to see in those games the individual performances of those players who were completely written off? Even in the games Miami did not win the points that were made in the OP still held true. I saw that and I saw the breakdown. It’s the heading. If the heading was Canes Defense Off to Strong Start or something similar with what you wrote under that, it would have a completely different connotation.

You have people on CIS that will just say everything sucks. You also have people raising legitimate questions about a number of positions - the middle of the defense, the lack of much proven talent at WR, the TE room… etc - and they don’t need to eat crow for it let alone three games in with two of those games being Bethune Cookman and USF.

And questioning the defense before the season on a defense that was like 100th nationally or whatever god awful result it was last year isn’t something that warrants eating crow anyway.

By the way, your first point about Fletcher having wiggle isnt right - dudes a battering ram who might not get drafted - Pringle clearly should have been starting from the start which takes me to this. The difference between this year and others is Hetherman and the 2025 hs and portal evals. Just stellar by Mario and staff. They hit all over the place and there are some good 2024 guys as well like Lightfoot and Scott.

Huge difference and it’s the evals.

It’s always the same posters. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Mario is blamed for everything that has happened over the last 20 years. Ready to fire the man instead of just giving him a little time.

We’re on the right trajectory. But people watch a football game where we literally got cheated on every call, and not even subjective ones. Blatant cheating, it was laughable watching it in real time. Fire Mario, burn it to the ground…..

You guys act like a bunch of 18 year olds who don’t know sht about life. Just look past the tip of your own nose and you might see something in the distance. Let the man do his thing and he will bring us at minimum no 6.
