Cronkite is Gone

Like I originally said, what makes walton better than cronk, people are so quick to say one is better than the other but can not give a detail response why, if one person can explain why than maybe I'll be convinced and rep them to the fullest.

He's more elusive, catches better, has better vision, and plays big in big games.

"Jordan Cronkite just decommitted.

And so it begins.

This is not just recruiting news, this is the current face of our program, and I'd guess as time goes on, this trend will continue. Kid wants to win."

This was UM's doing. Cronkite said he hadn't heard from UM for a while.

Maurice, Geo, much respect, I think for me it was the little things cronk does why I had him higher, the non-wasted steps out the backfield, the north south running style, keeping the legs moving through contact, and overall better speed, size and power which always add great additions to an rb. One trait I like about walton no one ever mentions is his duribility, seems like the guy takes major hits per game and it never affects him. Wish Cronk the best, hopefully he returns to be a cane which is highly unlikely.

We'll agree to disagree on our views of the comparison of the two. But don't get me wrong. I like Cronk and I think he's a great player and I viewed him as better on defense. But I wish him the best as well.

But we must move on. I think it's unlikely Cronk recommits. Said and felt it that he would bolt if Walton reclassified to '15.

Anyone who says Cronk a scrub is blind. I've always liked the kid as an athlete prospect. I rated the others with higher potential at RB but Cronk is no slouch either, I just viewed them with higher ceilings measurable and ability wise. Cronk will do well regardless, he is talented. (IMO should be on defense, more upside there.)

I would just like to clarify that JC did not decommit because of the Walton situation. Now the staff may have decided to change their strategy with JC as the Walton situation played itself out but it didn't affect JC one way or another. What made him decommit is because of the staff and what was being said. Now some people may not believe what I'm about to say but this is what it is. I've mentioned before about only taking 2backs and everything that was happening going into August and within that time the staff changed their tone numerous times as to the benefit of playing with 2 others in your class and then the next week say we are only taking 2. This bothered JC a little because he could never get a straight story from the staff collectively. Then after Ice took over the RB position that was the last day Cronkrite had any contact with the staff.

JC decided to see how things played out from there and then his father reached out to the staff on a few occasions about the situation and lack of communication and received mixed signals once again. Then the mother reached out and Friday night one of their coaches replied saying JC hasn't been in response at all, has not posted any of the graphics he had sent him through Twitter and overall he never thought his commitment was ever legit or solid from the beginning.

And that is all JC needed to hear. It hurt him to hear that because UM is his team and where he wanted to be but the staff could never be straight up with him.

I guess it had nothing to do with Scarlett, Dexter Williams, and now Mark Walton being in the same class as him.

With all due respect Token. Wish Cronk the best.

But to me. Especially one being in the camp that if Walton reclassified that Cronk would decommit for a long time. Found it very odd and too much of a coincidence that it came just a bit after the reclassification news came to light.

Not bashing, not saying anything bad. Just my view. Hope Cronk succeeds.

Disappointed to hear that the staff messed up Cronkrite's recruitment so badly, regardless of the shape we're in at RB with the other players currently committed. A stud from Dade County who views UM as his team and committed early deserved better than that.

I wish the kid well wherever he ends up.

Funny how it is ALWAYS the Miami coaches' fault in situations like this. I cannot wait to hear the coaches' take on the situation... Oh wait, they cannot comment on a recruit. Easy to create the narrative when the other side can't respond.

You are only getting one side of the story.

Stop with the BS. This has nothing to do with him leaving because he doesn't think we can win. It has to do with him leaving because with Walton now said to be allowed to reclassify, we are going to have THREE top notch RB recruits next year all better than Cronkrite. I'd love for him to stay, but his leaving is about knowing that he's going to have to compete for playing time against Yearby as well as three recruits that all grade out higher than he does.

Recruiting changes. They intended to take 2 RBs. A top 5 RB in the nation decides to join the class, and then a stud 2016 recruit that was already committed decided that he wants to move up a year. The staff was likely at fault for not communicating this to him in the best manner, but maybe he shifted down the priority list after these other guys got on board. I never thought that we'd sign 4 RBs anyways, so it probably is just best for JC and UM to part ways at this point. He's been wavering for quite some time, so I thought that this was inevitable anyways.

Jordan Cronkrite ran all over Travis Rudolph and Cardinal Newman last year in the playoffs on one leg. Also just lead WCS to a win over Immokalee. Walton is great but JC is a monster who our staff dropped the ball on.

Who the **** slow plays arguably the best back in Dade county?

The team with the other two best RB's in Dade County

No offense but am I supposed to be impressed with Travis Rudolph's as a run stopper?

If the staff wanted to move away from him then they should have been straight up with him. Don't make up things about things he is doing.

As far as the other backs JC was not fearing any of them. Let's be honest about the other backs, Scarlett has only done well behind good offensive lines but he also wasn't the only weapon on their offense. His measurables are off the chart but he has never been on bad teams and not until this season has he played against a solid schedule. Walton has the luxury of being in one of the most prolific offenses in Dade county history and normally gets to operate with about 5-6 in the box. Every back in that system has always done well. Williams is the best overall athlete and just has never been with good coaches that can develop his skills. JC plays the same competition Scarlett was playing with a much worse O line, no QB and 8-9 in the box.

Read that WC only had 22 or 23 players for that Immokalee game. Gritty performance. Like I said before his skill set is different than the other backs the U is recruiting. Thunder to the lightning. I hope the line of communication and trust aren't totally broken.

What exactly did they make up? Just to clarify. The kid has been publicly wavering on the commitment for months. He told media months ago that he would decommit if Scarlett and Walton were both in the class. He has his right to be upset if he thought that there were going to be 2 backs in the class. But Miami isn't in the position to turn down having 3 4 star RBs joining a backfield.
