So what do you all really expect to see out there Saturday? First time head coach, first start QB, OL with no experience, playing against #8, JUST 1 GAME REMOVED FROM THE WISCONSIN DRUBBING, did you think it was all fixed with a few weeks of practice? Really? We back? The majority of this place lost all sense of reality weeks ago. The group think on this board was so strong that if anyone even attempted to say, "hold up, here's a problem", they were pretty much shown the door and told they might as well be gator fans if they didn't bring a pair of pom poms and could only scream "we are going to kill the Gators".

And now you all act shocked at the outcome. Now you are allowed to rag on the team? The group think has officially sanctioned that it's ok?

What you get with a young team, new coaches and a new system is exactly what you got, no surprises. You are going to get procedural penalties, missed assignments, imperfect fundamentals. Anyone that has any common sense about football knows this. You can't instill or get rid of it by game one, especially rooting out the legacy of the last few years.

What you did see is them fight to the end. Big difference from LSU opener a year ago, and from the Wisconsin bowl defeat a game ago. That alone shows promise that we are going in the right direction. A few plays here or and there and would have won. You gonna let a few plays completely skew your view just because we ended on the lower end of the score? How you win and lose matters too, and for the first loss in years, I didn't want to throw my shoe through the tv. Of course a win in better, but crap, Vegas doesn't lie. It wasn't expected, except in here.

Excellent report, but I expect the "group think" on this board to lose it's f####in mind. Hold steady man, cause it's coming.

"Sunshine Pumpers" is absolutely on point. I did see a few voices crying out in the wilderness. Of course their voices were drowned out by the Sunshine Chorus.

- Stop it with the #8 BS. We had WAY more talent on the field.

- No excuse for having no plan to help out the Tackles. There’s no preseason here. It was go time. That’s on Enos and Manny. Kudos to Enos for being the great QB coach that he was touted to be there was no game plan or adjustments for the offense.

- JT4 is a junior. It’s fair to rag on him for the muffed punt and dropped pass

Other than that, I feel you

We responded to adversity and didn’t roll over and play dead like we did with Wisconsin. College football is a game of relativity (at least with the top 50 teams). You play the toughest against the best competition and tend to get lulled to sleep against the lesser opponents. We need to continue the fire in our bellies. We need to continue to fight the tough competition and not lose ground against the lower tier teams. But if you roll over at the first sign of adversity, you can never truly compete. This team could have let UF score on their second possession and be down 14-3 and try to climb out of that hole (and should that have happened, I believe that we would have kept fighting). It all depends on your response when you get smacked in the mouth. And this team didn’t give up. So if the gators end up in the bottom of the standings or somehow go on to fight for a playoff spot, we should be happy that the attitude of this team is to not quit. That is the first major change to see in this TNM culture and I expect our days ahead to be bright, no matter what challenges we face.

Our fans expected to blow out a second year SEC staff with a higher blue chip ration after going 7-6 and starting freshmen and sophomores all over. Why? No idea. But thats what our fans expected.

I don't know. The game went kind of how I thought it was going to go. Sloppy play, poor offensive lines, first to 24 won. I just hoped Miami was going to get there first. I thought we had a realistic shot of beating the gators but in no way would I be stupid enough to think we were going to win by 30.

It's the first game of the season!!! The way the NCAA is today with the rules, these kids don't hit or tackle during practice, it's a Glorified walk thru. If we play like that 6 weeks into the season then start Ragging on the coaches & players but you've got to be realistic.

We had a realistic shot to win that game despite all of the many mistakes and penalty calls not go our way. Just imagine how this team especially offense will get better with more experience

Uh, what exactly am I not “being realistic” about? It’s unrealistic to help out our two Freshmen OTs against a solid front seven? It’s unrealistic for JT4 to catch balls?

What does not being able to go full speed in all the practices have anything to do with what I said?

- Stop it with the #8 BS. We had WAY more talent on the field. - Stop it. Don't be ridiculous. I'll even listen to "we had more talent", but there's no arguing the fact that these two teams are currently comparable in the talent of the players. We simply do not have "WAY" more talent than UF, at this point in time.

Kudos to Enos for being the great QB coach that he was touted to be there was no game plan or adjustments for the offense. - True, we did not do enough to help out the tackles. After the scripted plays were up, we had a large number of procedural problems that resulted in a inability to get plays in, in a timely manner, and required less motion and a trimmed down playbook and made it difficult to make adjustments. This needs to improve, but is explainable/understandable, and is absolutely correctable with proper teaching and effort. The film review and breakdown of this game is going to be a tremendous teacher for us.

- JT4 is a junior. It’s fair to rag on him for the muffed punt and dropped pass - Dude was expected to be our best player on offense. He needs to step up. Period.
