Credit to the South Florida kids...

It’s crazy to see that only 5 of the top 25 kids in the state of Florida are committed to an in state school, and Miami has 3 (possible 4) of them. The other 2... Marcus Burke to UF and Brendan Jennings to FSU.

Bama ia doing better than fswho and the gaytors combined in florida. Thats nuts to me. They should be renamed Floribama

Manny has hit a home run in regards to recruiting support staff hires. These guys know the area and the kids. They’re respected throughout the tri county area. They’re going to have to show results on the field because you can only sell potential so long but this is a great start.

100%. Support staff is at a whole new level.
I am also starting to think Manny might be one of those coaches who is better when his role is more peripheral to the recruitment (letting the primary recruiter work hardest to establish the relationship), is able to then come in and sells the brand and the school in spurts, and ends up helping to close and get the signature. Not every coach is cut out for the grind of being a great primary recruiter, but it doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't have other bonafide recruiting skills.

Manny strikes me as more of the analytical X's and O's type of coach and a lot of times those guys don't have the salesman's mentality that it takes to be a big time recruiter. He' done a good job of allowing the "recruiters" to do their job while maintaining a voice through the process. I really believe this staff has the best mix of technicians and recruiters we've had in a very long time.

Sounds a lot like how Bobby Bowden used to do it. People can say what they want about Bowden, but even in his old age he was a master closer.

He's definitely letting those guys do their job, and is more a cerebral/analytics guy at heart. But he's also very aware of the UM brand, and a lot of these commits mention Diaz, too. It just seems like the recruiting feedback is more positive now that he's recruiting "from the top" and a bit removed from the daily grind. Whatever it is, it's working so I hope he keeps it up!

Something like that, yes. Different interpersonal styles, for sure, but definitely more a "closer" role like Bowden. He spent some time as a GA under Bowden, so it would make sense that he may be learned it from the man.
