Courtel Jenkins Out

He'll be back soon. I ran the Boston Marathon this year in under three hours with a torn posterior horn of the medial meniscus. No big deal. Courtel will be fine.

Are you sure that Molten is playing this week?

Molten and Willis are back. That gives us 4 DTs that are better than any DT on any of the next 3 teams we play.

How many goddam DTs do the "we don't have any depth" crybabies need to beat the meatballs coming up on our schedule? We got Chris Farley in the wings to throw out there during blowouts.

I'd be more comfortable if Molten wasn't already dinged up.

Dude.... In one game he matched ALL of his tackles for loss that he had last season? I know it was FAMU, but c'mon thats absurd. He was a starter for us over half the season last year and only had three tackles for loss. Another friendly reminder how terrible Golden and Dorito were.

Its hard to get tackles on the other side of the line of scrimmage when the defensive scheme doesn't allow you to run past it.

Solid point, CaneCuck@USF.

According to Matt Porster, yes

Rick said Molten was questionable yesterday and now all of a suddenly he's playing? Smells like a bunch of bull ****.

Far from terrible news. We have 4 weeks before we play FSU. He's not winning or losing us a game before then.

How come a torn meniscus sometimes results in a basketball player missing several months, but a football player can play on it almost immediately?

couple of reasons:

1. depends on the severity of the tear.
2. basketball requires a lot more jumping and cutting on an unforgiving surface. you can get back to running and practicing on grass (or good modern turf), and ease back into fitness much faster than you can on hardwood because grass/turf has some give.

Meniscus tears are tricky and everyone's body is different (heals differently). It also depends on severity

For every athlete that comes back in 3 weeks, there are others that take 3 months.

You're able to walk without crutches on day 2, but it still took me a full 3 months (and I was an athlete that didn't weigh nearly as much as Courtel)

3. Most basketball players are pvssies with low pain tolerance.

It took you 3 months to return to being a jockey because of a meniscus? Those are some pitiful genetics.

Don't worry Ryan Fines got this.

If you say so

My 103 year old grandma recovered quicker from a total knee replacement than you did from a lousy meniscus tear. Either you have the worst genetics in the world, or you had your surgery in Guatemala.

Good for her

I'd rather see Fines and Jahair J. out there at DT when it's 56-0 this Saturday than risk an injury to somene good but I guess I'll shut up now.
