I appreciate the legacy thing, and loyalty, but I have watched a ton of football the last half century and never seen a punter hurt a team worse over two seasons, than ours has. He is way beyond redemption at this point.
People ridiculously point to him having some 50 yard punts late in the game ****, it was over by then because of that 25 yard average his first 3 punts gifted LSU and their scoring drives. The excuses: "He can do it", "Just needs to Relax", "They almost blocked it, so he was rattled".
Punters all over the country, at ever level face that - if you are a scholarship punter at a Division-1 program, presumably you should have figured out how to deal with that aspect of the position before you get to a big game. Why? So you don't repeatedly put your defense on short fields at the worst possible times. Its like an energy drink boosting a momentum shift.
