Couple Things on Feagles

That is false, and you're just making **** up. There are several articles on 247 and Rivals discussing how he should be better because he looks good in practice.

Not surprised you'd make things up given your posting history though

The inconsistency that Feagles showed last season continues to rear it’s ugly head in practices. He routinely trades great punts for terrible punts on Greentree.

Lol

It’s bizarre in that he looks great warming up. But, when it goes live, he almost totally misses the ball. It would be a crime if Spicer didn’t get a chance to punt in games.

This is horrible

Yup. Horrible punting along with Malik's tendency to go 3 and out several times in a row in every game are going to be very tough to overcome against any decent squad.

The second qtr was a calamity of bad play one after the other. Long TD, 3 and out, bad punt, TD, 3 and out, bad punt, TD, 3 and out, bad punt, FG, and pick 6. Ball game. Back to back to back.

Feagles is trash and Hartley is the worst position coach of all time... shouldve pulled his *** soon as he shanked another punt.

I guess the staff doesn’t think field position is that big an issue. Diaz should’ve been over there chewing somebody’s *** out for constantly putting his defense in fckd up positions.

It’s too much country club everybody’s just living they best life **** going on in this mfkr somebody need to start throwing **** off desks and slamming doors round this mfkr asap.

Play Spicer and recruit another punter, its late in the game so a grad transfer/JUCO might be the answer. LSU hit pay dirt with their transfer kicker.

There’s no need of a couple things.

1 thing- Kid is Trash.

But on a real note he is scared when the lights comes on. That’s the best answer I see. Some kids make it to college and regularly nut up when the lights are on them.

Whether he lacks proper technique, gets scared when the lights come on, or by pressure, it does not matter. The point is the guy is awful, he did not improve whatsoever, and I'm tired of hearing the staff or anyone make excuses for this guy. He should not be our punter, I don't care who his dad is.

These dumbasses signed a kicker who was 4 for 10 in high school, they obviously don't give a **** about special teams.

I am still dumbfounded by what I have seen from Zach Feagles as a Miami punter. Never in my life have I seen a punter be so consistently bad. While all punters have a shanked punt on occasion, Feagles has a non-shanked punt on occasion.

I don't really know much about punting and don't usually pay attention to it while watching football, but yesterday I paid a bit closer attention to Feagles. After the game I have two main thoughts:

#1 Feagles drops the ball and allows it to free-fall a ridiculously long time before making contact. I remember watching one of the kicks Feagles shanked and the ball dropped at least 2 feet before contact was made with his leg. Clearly Feagles has terrible leg-eye coordination and he just can't square up the ball. He doesn't hit the ball with the center of his foot, instead he catches it with the left or right side. This makes the ball travel sideways and out of bounds rather than up the field.

This happens regularly, watch the -1 yard kick from last year, he drops the ball and instead of making contact with the center of the ball he makes contact with the right side making the ball go completely to the right. This reminds me of when I would fool around with punting and would try to drop the ball and kick it, rarely would I be able to square it up and actually make it go north and south. But based on my common sense, I would end up holding the ball a little longer and have less of a drop to make sure I could square it up. HOW HAS NOBODY TOLD THIS TO FEAGLES?? It might take some distance off his punt, but I'm pretty sure it will still be longer than the 30 yards he averages now.

Again I know very little about punting, but I know for a fact most punters do not have that big of a drop. How has no coach looked at this and tried to change it up? OBVIOUSLY it is not working, either change it or teach him how to square up the punt. It is one thing if the guy doesn't have the leg and it ends up just going 20 yards, but if all his punts go to the right or left and not up the field he is clearly not getting the ball squared up.

#2 We have Jack Spicer on this team. I do not know how he performs in practice or scrimmages, but this guy was a punter at UF and then transferred here. He is a senior with a ton of experience and last year in the championship game against Clemson he had two punts for an average of 42.5 yards. Maybe I am wrong, but in the countless punts that Feagles has had as a Miami Hurricanes I don't recall many that have gone over 42.5 yards. We have legit back-up punter we don't have to go pick up a random guy from the dorms.
The kid’s father punted in the NFL for 20 years. He hasn’t lacked for coaching. He’s just not good.

"Miami’s best starting field position was own 30

LSU had possessions start at:
UM 47
Own 42
Own 44
Own 44
UM 41
Own 48

Thats tough to overcome. "

This is why Hartley has to go. All those starting field positions aren't on feagles (he's clearly a lot of it). It's every phase of special teams. We let a guy come free right up the middle who should have blocked our first punt. I don't know that I've even seen a guy come straight up the middle like that untouched when you have the punt formation with the blockers in front of the punter. On punt returns we don't block anyone. A bunch of lsu guys were right on Dallas fielding every punt. When Feagles did hit a couple nice punts, our coverage sucked. Kickoff returns are totally non threatening. Field goal kickers have hit a million kicks in a row against us. I used to think that was a fluke and of course it still partly is, but it's also partly because we put ZERO pressure on kickers. It looks like an easy kick in practice every time they line up. On top of all this we had a bunch of stupid, potentially game altering penalties on special teams. How we were penalized twice in a row when lsu was punting deep in their own end was mind blowing. I absolutely despise Hartley. He has to be one of, if not the worst position coaches of all time.

Baxa is a freshman that's kicked twice fellas. I think bashing him is premature don't ya think?

All I know about him is that he sucked his senior year, sucked kicking in a scrimmage at SLS and has that deer caught in headlights look. Not a good start.

The staff must be on the beach enjoying paradise. Not one problem from last season was fixed. Not one

This is horrible

I read an article recently about the 5 factors to winning a football game. Explosiveness, efficiency, field position, finishing drives, and turnovers. Can read it here:

College football's 5 most important stats

LSU starting field position was their own 43. I’m not sure what Canes was, but, for reference, teams with a 20+ yard advantage win 96.9% of the time. Moving down the chart, 6-10 yards is 78.3%.

Basically, if Feagles continues to ***** us, history says we will lose most of our games, unless our defense is lights out.

Let the walk-on punt. It's time to cut our losses with Feagles.
