Could you ever pull for another program?

NGL I’ve pulled for my fair share of losses… for the betterment of the program, of course.

But no chance I could be a fan of anyone else. If I could I would have done it already.

Every other major-college team is an afterthought tbh.

I live in SC so I do like to see SC do well (except against us), but I could never pull for them like I do the Canes

No. I actually have some real life examples. I grew up in Miami in the 70's - 80's, parents from Philly. So I grew up as a hard core fan of the Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers. I walked away from all of those teams over time.

Living in the Bay Area for 20 years I "rooted" for the A's, Giants, Warriors and Sharks. It was fun living in a market where the local teams won 6 titles (3 world series for the Giants and 3 NBA titles for the Warriors. ) I rooted for them but I could never call myself a fan of those teams. The "tell" was that when they started to suck again, it was easy to turn the TV off. lol.

Compare that to me flying across the country and sitting through every single play of the last game ever in the Orange Bowl watching the hapless Canes defense fail to stop UVA from beating them 48-0.
I still hate UVA for that.....Every summer I play at least one season for NCAA 14 as an independent so I can schedule all the teams I hate, and pummel them. It's like medicine. FSU, UF, ND, OSU, VaTech, UVA, UNC, BAMA, Washington, Clemson...I put it on Freshmen setting and beat the snot out of each team. Feels good since the chances of us beating multiple teams on that list in a given year go down with each passing year.
