Could you ever pull for another program?

I will never turn my back on my alma mater, but I have rooted for ASU in recent years, because I live in Arizona and have multiple neighbors and clients that work in the ASU athletic department. As long as they aren't playing Miami, I don't have a problem with them winning. That said, the moment I lose that connection, it will be back to "Who the F cares" territory.

I love CFB. But the Canes make me love CFB. That's how I realllllly fell in love with it 20 years ago. I can't love another team like that. I mean, all the players from UM I've pulled for in the pros. There's no way. I'll probably just find another completely different sport, pick a new team, go from there.

And its getting to that point. If we don't do the right thing this year, it shows they (UM admin) don't care. And I'm walking away. If I do I'll post a thread of all the memorabilia I'll be selling. Can't keep it. Too painful to look at. Well, unless my 6 year old wants it.

Sounds like OP is taking a pulse of the audience to further justify their own decision. Don't let the door hit you where the lord split you

NEVER! Actually tried and just can't do it....had family at other teams and my orange and green blood would not mix with other colors.

They would have to stop playing football at the University of Miami.

And why?

As a first generation afro Canadian, MIAMI taught me, my brother, and cousins (though one went on to be a gator smh) how to play football. Not just the fundamentals, but how to enjoy every **** moment of this beautiful game. We could go 0-12, and after I'm done kicking my dog all over the house, I'll find a way to convince myself next year is the year.

EVERYTHING YOU SEE IN CFB, STARTED WITH US! We can't watch a game without seeing players put four fingers in the air at the end of the 3rd qtr..... that started here!! We created that!

I couldn't imagine trying to forget my canes on a Saturday afternoon. It would just be torture

I root for Oregon. They were a start up dynasty in the early 2010s similar to how we were long ago. But even rooting for them, I’m never as invested as I am watching the Canes. I don’t follow every move they make like I do this team. It’s like drugs. When we’re winning it’s a high like no other. But the lows make me want to die

It depends on what you mean by "pull."

I "root" for a lot of teams for various reasons. I root for FIU, FAU, USF, and UCF most weeks. I root for Oregon in the Pac 12. I root for Fresno State (my undergrad alma mater). Stuff like that.

But I can only be a fan of one program, the Canes.
Tried to specify w/o getting long winded.

Could you see yourself following recruiting ? Going to games annually? Season tickets? Learn to love again?

If you mean replace then no, however yes, there a 3 other teams that I pull for, and I watch whenever I can.
1. Army - Try to watch every week on CBSSN.
2. Toledo - My wife has ties to them, and if they lose it doesn't ruin the Saturday.
3. Harvard - My alma matter ( actually went there my last 2 years of college to get my degree ). Don't get to see them much, but still keep up with the CFB and MBB program. BTW: they are on TV this Friday on ESPNU. Go Crimson.

If you think I’m ever gonna base a decision off the opinions of this fan base, you are sadly mistaken.

Just bored. You go start a thread Miami related.

Are we gonna lose 5 or 6 or 7 games.. How many recruits decommit? Will there be less than 10k at this weeks game? Does UNC go over 600 yards? When will the freshman transfer? Etc etc. Not very fun.
