Could Possibly Have

Andre is going to have a long wait. His career receiving yards are way up there, but he's pretty low on the all-time receiving TD's list (like, somewhere in the mid-40's) and doesn't have a ring.

To compound that, WR is extremely competitive and there are a lot of quality guys waiting. My money says Wayne gets in before Johnson.

As for the rest... Edge I still think makes it, eventually. Wilfork should get in. Hester to me is a no-brainer even strictly as a return man, Gore is a lock at this point, and I think Olsen may well have a shot.

We'll probably have the most HoF'ers of any school within ten years.

Obviously Reed is in.

Gore is clearly going to get there also.

Edge should, but it isn’t a lock. Wayne and Johnson both have cause to be optimistic, but WR is a funny position for Canton to assess these days.

Wilfork probably should get there, but 3-4 NTs don't garner a lot of accolades and he didn’t have enough all pro selections to be an easy pick (he had 4, and only 1 first team). Two SB rings help. Helping Wilfork is likely to eventually be a recognition that he was a unique and dominant inside guy for his era. But 4-3 DTs who generate sacks and TFLs have an easier time getting the stats that help make the case.

Olsen has a ways to go to be a likely candidate, imo. Calais Campbell with a DPOY award is also on the radar, though would have years of work left.

Hester, eh. If they want a return guy, he’s the guy. Obviously not otherwise.

Andre’s prime is better than Reggie’s three times 1st team all pro and twice second team all pro. He was a Top 4-5 receiver for 5 years = HOF

Because they are kids?
These kids were in diapers or perhaps not even born when these HOF inductees were in their prime.
Why would you expect them to be aware of what they would perceive as "ancient history"?

That's not really true. Sure, they may have been in diapers when those guys were playing for Miami. But they were all big time NFL players for these kids' entire childhoods.

The best arguments for those guys are Art Monk, Andre Reed and James Lofton. Wayne and AJ stack up well against them. But they are exceptions, and probably don’t belong. The other guys who have gotten in came from SB repeat winners (Steelers, Cowboys) or stacked up major stats and pro bowls. (Harrison I am surprised he got in but 8 pro bowls. Ditto for Carter.) wayne has 1 SB and 6 pro bowls. On the cusp. Plus longevity stats. AJ has 3x first team all pro and 7x pro bowl. That is a credible argument, but no SB.

I would think even if it was a bit ago, you would look into what made them great and what was their history.

They care about those bags. We have all assumed the bag game was in play. This is the first time I can remember a UM coach going on record stating it’s true.

These SEC schools are offering 💰 today to these young pups and their families. None of them are thinking about their futures!!!

If Edge is gonna make it, needs to be this year or next. He's been a three-time finalist. My recollection (don't quote me on this, but recall reading) is no one has made it after the third selection as a finalist.

WR is super difficult given the proliferation of passing offenses dating back to the 90's Rams.

Wilfork, to me, was a generational talent that changed the way the position was played and was absolutely dominant. Sometimes that doesn't come with stats.

Olsen I believe is the only TE in history to post three thousand yard seasons. But TE is a difficult position to make it as well. I don't see Campbell getting in, given the competition in his era.

Hester is a weird one, but it boils down to the eye test for me. Does he look like a Hall of Famer? Duh. So he should get in.

If announcers can make the Hall, there's no reason specialists shouldn't be able to.
