Could Mensah Stay?

It’s the 2nd contract it delays. You have to convince Mensah he truly benefits from another year developing.

Cause guys like Baker and Daniel Jones just signed 50/mil a year deals. Even Darnold just signed a 100mil contract. Thats where the real money is made.
Darnold signed a 1 year deal for $4.5M to be a backup after his rookie contract, then signed a 1 year deal for $10M, before hitting it big with the Seahawks deal.

Mayfield basically did the same thing signing a 1 year deal with the Bucs for $4M before proving himself.

Mensah will have the opportunity next year to make $10M++ at UM

Possibly but not necessarily he’s not a sure fire prospect
McShay and now Kiper have him going top 10 at the moment. I haven't looked at the mocks. If KaMario and Russell continue to improve he is not going before them.

Dante Moore has gone down after coming back it looks like

I think he goes first round too unless something goes wrong, I don’t think kamario or russell should enter yet

This is basically moore 3rd year, he only returned because he sat his sophomore year after transferring to Oregon.

What happened to this stacked QB class (NFL) everyone on here was raving about?
It never existed. I knew Arch was a fraud when he couldn’t see significant time over Quinn Ewers. Good QB’s play early. The days of sitting behind someone for 1-2 years have been long gone.

The thing is NONE of that changes next year and just opens him up to be more scrutinized and opens him up to be injured, Oregon Moore style and watch his draft prospect collapse.. His arm wont get stronger and if he is profiled as first rounder with QB class going smaller, he has to go..
He can improve the two mental sides of his game - learning to handle pressure and reading a defence. Much easier to develop those at the College level than in the NFL, where everyone is bigger / stronger / faster and the business is extremely cutthroat. Unless you're Bryce Young of course and you get to start for 4 years uncontested, despite ****ting down your leg for 30 games.

I know we have a lot of football left but does anyone think Mensah could possibly stay one more year? I know if he grades high it’s unlikely but just spitballing.
In the NIL era, this is a legit question. I think with Arch imploding it moves Mensah up a the chart. He was already high on the list. Ultimately, too hard to pass up if he's going to be a top 5 pick.

I agree. If he gets a first round grade (which he should) he’s definitely gone

Right now he is bascially QB2 with Mestemaker as QB1, with more production he can easily get to QB1 and thus be the first overall pick.

There is no reason for him to return unless something horrific happens. He would be missing out on 15 million guaranteed in a pro contract if he is a 1st round pick, and no sensible college team is paying 15 million a year in NIL for one player.
