Could Mensah Stay?

I think it’s more likely that Arch calls up Dawson and asks if his scheme can repair the damage that Sarks done than it is for Mensah to come back, especially with each win.

Someone else mentioned that his arm isn’t getting stronger and I think that’s true. The only thing he should work on is running when defense bails.
I don’t want Arch tbh. He has real trouble seeing the field

If I'm an NFL scout I have questions about his arm strength, his ability to deal with pressure and his ability to read a defence.

It's not a sure fire thing he's a first round pick, regardless of how the rest of the season goes. Especially when you factor in that Ward is struggling in the NFL and was exceptional in this system, with far less talent at the skill positions.
I had this thought watching the FSU game. He seemed a little frazzled at times.

Think maybe a 20% chance he returns at most. Tho I think it’d probably be a scenario in which he struggles a bit to end the year. Maybe Carr, Chambliss, Simmons emerge ahead of him.

Cause next year he’s competing with Kamari Taylor and Keelon Russell(possibly Simmons next year instead)

1. Miami would pay for insurance to replace any injury drops in draft status.
2. He would get more money next year at UM and then get to sign his NFL contract the next year (at more money b/c of rising salary caps).

Delaying a year doesn't mean he never gets that $25M++ guaranteed payday and if he wins a couple natty's and Heisman's his brand will be 5x what it will be after just this year.
It’s the 2nd contract it delays. You have to convince Mensah he truly benefits from another year developing.

Cause guys like Baker and Daniel Jones just signed 50/mil a year deals. Even Darnold just signed a 100mil contract. Thats where the real money is made.

He's had enough starts - I wrote in another thread that I would drop a bag for Austin Simmons. He hasn't played enough college games to leave yet IMO. Sell him on the O and playing with a great surrounding cast. Pay Samson to come back and play his stronger position.

Cantwell - Okunlola- Buchanan - Congdon - Transfer

The thing is NONE of that changes next year and just opens him up to be more scrutinized and opens him up to be injured, Oregon Moore style and watch his draft prospect collapse.. His arm wont get stronger and if he is profiled as first rounder with QB class going smaller, he has to go..
