Could Mensah Stay?

I think it’s more likely that Arch calls up Dawson and asks if his scheme can repair the damage that Sarks done than it is for Mensah to come back, especially with each win.

Someone else mentioned that his arm isn’t getting stronger and I think that’s true. The only thing he should work on is running when defense bails.

No thank you

Where did I say it wasn't guaranteed and why does that matter to this discussion?

I guess you missed the part where Mensah could make $10M from Miami "guaranteed" plus injury insurance covered by UM, get better/stronger/more refined, possibly improve his draft stock further, and then GET THE SAME GUARANTEED CONTRACT THE FOLLOWING YEAR PLUS whatever the rookie salary payments rise to, after making more money per year at Miami.

If he's not top 10 it's not the no brainer you think it is.

The idea that we accomplish all our goals this year and Mensah comes back next year is absurd and delusional. He's only back if he/we **** the bed from here on out.

See Matt Barkley as the cautionary tale of why you don’t delay coming out if you’re likely 1st round pick.

Also, and I might wrong, when they list salary numbers I don’t think that’s straight cash? I believe they add in things like the value of a car lease, or apartment to the value of the NIL package.

I think it’s a possibility he comes back. If he isn’t drafted in the top 10 he will make more money returning to Miami.

The knock on him at the moment is arm strength, an attribute that could push him down draft boards. So if the draft grade comes back late 1st - early 2nd it will make more financial sense for him to return

Ty Simpson was drafted 13th overall and currently makes $2M less than Mensah

The thing is his arm isnt gonna get stronger and he is already 3 year starter.. Will check every box for parcell draft qb rule.. Coming back will just allow scouts to pick his game a part more and risk injury, there will be no upside.. As long as he finishes season the way he should, he will be gone (Heisman, playoff run, etc)

Oline and him running for his life might cause issues.
