Could Beck perform his way into the 1st round next year?

Beck stats v ACC teams last 2 years:

2024:

GT: 28/43 5TD, 0 INTS, 297 yards
Clemson: 23/33, 2 TD, 0 INT 278 yards

2023:

FSU: 13/18 2 TD, 0 INT, 208 yards
GT: 13/20 1TD, 1INT, 175 yards

TrumpyCane thinks pretty decent outside 2023 GT

INB4 something something talent level of UGA
He roasted a very good Clemson defense and a solid Georgia Tech team in 2024 with pretty mediocre talent around him.

His body of work is more impressive than Cam Ward’s was before he got here.

Note* I didn’t say he was a better player than Cam. I know some semi-literate dumbass is waiting to jump on that comment. Beck has played and succeeded at a much higher level against much better opponents though. He is stepping down in competition coming to the ACC.

Also, Georgia played 14 games in 2023. Brock Bowers missed 4 of them and Ladd McConkey missed 5. Those guys were great talents but let’s not pretend they carried Carson Beck when they missed a third of their team’s games.

Beck was also unanimously considered a higher draft pick than Cam Ward was BEFORE last season.. I've been looking and haven't been able to find a single article that had Cam as a projected higher pick than Beck before the season kicked off...

It seems blasphemous because I’m one of the people that think Cam is the best quarterback we’ve ever had. But 99% of Miami fans would have taken Beck over Ward at this time last year.

Agree on most points. Couple issues that might keep NFL personnel people asleep at night. One is leadership and fitting into the locker room. It might be overblown and involve some jealousy, but Beck wasn’t a favorite of UGA teammates. He wasn’t seen as ****ey, but one player described him as “different.” The other point is NFL medical folks are sure to look at his elbow and long term future a thousand different ways before investing a 1st rd pick, a huge sum of money and their own job security.
He carried UGA’s offense last year though lowkey. No running game and most drops in CFB. Few were intercepted after going through receivers hands. He balls out here.. no one will give a ****! He will be a year removed from the injury too.

If he can stay healthy, I think this is an easy yes. He will put up numbers in Dawsons system and behind our oline. People also don’t realize is that if he never got hurt in the SEC championship game, he’s playing participating in OTA’s right now. Scouts like this kids arm

As WR and DT will probably determine our season. Receiving, WR and TE will decide Beck's season. If they play well for him, I expect him to be a high 1st RD pick. I am not as high on Bauman, as others. I think he is more of a package TE, with that experience. I think the young TE's are better, but they are just very young, no experience. These young guys could all step up, out of the gate and JoJo stays healthy, to help drive us to a playoff berth or the bright lights are to much this early in their careers. If things go wrong and he isn't drafted in the 1st, he is still a 1st RD talent in my opinion.

The answer is an obvious yes. Really anyone can play themselves into round one. Joe burrow was a game manager in 2018. Then 2019 he was the top guy by a mile runaway heisman winner.

Beck was already forecasted round 1 by many. So his path is there. As long as the medical check out

He absolutely can, he just needs to protect the football better than last season. He could also improve his deep ball a bit, but he has a quick release with good arm talent, and he's a solid athlete. I think having a good running game where Beck can operate out of 2nd & 3rd and short will make his job much easier as well.
