Corey Raymond on the move...

If Raymond was willing to leave schools from all over would've hit him up including Miami idc what anybody says so this is to either get more money from LSU or Georgia is one of only a couple schools he'd even consider leaving for

Should've been ours, honestly. I'm cool w/ Baker, but we could've ponied $750K for this dude. Kill two birds w/ one stone. Good coordinator and an assassin for recruiting.

With you here bro. I assumed Corey was content where he was. **** that would’ve been killer to have him here. You better be a beast Blake.

Why are we worried again?
Corey Raymond can do the jobs of both Rumph and Banda plus out recruit them by leaps and bounds. Georgia's weakness the last couple of years has been DB play. A guy like Raymond will fix that play and ensure the continuing supply of 5* DB's to Georgia. That is a bit concerning as Georgia likes to poach from S. Florida.

Every couple years Corey Raymond interviews for another job somewhere and then LSU gives him a fat raise and he stays at LSU.
Exactly, they'll turn the heat back up on him because they love the idea of being #DBU. The only reason he hasn't been a dc before is because he doesn't actually care much about it so if LSU matches most likely he stays

Notice no one in SEC has asked him to be their DC. There’s a reason for that.

Baker is ideal because it frees Manny up to be CEO type of HC.

If Raymond comes Manny will have to be too involved defensively.

That is the type of defensive upgrade I wanted Manny to make instead of sticking with his own. We can’t match big boys bag game but school has to pay for serious coaches to make up the difference.

They are going to pouch with or without him and Diaz has made up his mind why dwell on what could have been? Do we even know for sure that we made a run at him anyways?

He’s the best DB coach in the country bar none. There’s nobody better, and everyone knows it. Additionally, he’s a fantastic recruiter. All of the best kids, at the very least, will consider playing for him if he makes contact. He’s just that good.

I’m not knocking our guys. I think they’re good. I just think he’s on another level.

One of my good friends is an LSU fan and says Raymond just bought a new house in Baton Rouge. He’s hustling for more money. Could be looking at upwards of 1 mil to just coach DBs. Makes roughly 875k right now

Good for him. Maybe we can give him a look next offseason when that entire staff gets fired for Kirby underachieving.

Corey Raymond is a pure bonafide KILLA on the recruiting trail.

He already has the #1 ranked 5-star CB (Elias Ricks from Mater Dei CA) in the 2020 class committed to LSU & has Lorando Johnson (a 4-star CB #2 ranked in Texas #8 ranked nationally) in his back pocket.

He's only making $450K in 2019, he signed a new deal back in 2016 & it expires at the end of the season. He definitely wants more money (and deserves it!) but I question if he really wants to leave LSU, that's his hometown, his alma mater that he played at & I'm sure it's a dream job to eventually be the DC or HC there.

But, until Aranda leaves they'll never give him the DC job at LSU, even though he's been there longer than Aranda. What's really crazy is LSU's OL coach & the passing game coordinator make more than Raymond.
