Corey Hetherman

Are you some low level failed HS coach desperately trying to pretend your opinion has significance? Sorry Hetherman is now a top name in CFB coaching circles and you are nobody 🤷
Nah, not not enough paper in HS coaching for me…I chose to build e-commerce businesses, obtain 7 figure exits, and dump the proceeds into the market so I don’t have to punch a clock like I’m sure you do every morning. Crazy how you get disrespectful from football talk and don’t even know who you’re talking to. Can’t lil boy me, hoe *** cane fan.

Then stick to your business because you are really bad at the football thing

Nah, you just don’t know what you’re looking at…
Name of the game is put up as many points as you can and keep your opponent off the board. As someone who played Cignetti and Heatherman at JMU first-hand, there’s some coaches who coach to play tight and not give up yards, but susceptible to big plays. Others coach to play top down and bend not break.

Pretty sure our secondary is schemed to bend not break which means we give up yards but not TDs. Heatherman has a top 5 scoring d, making every other stat out there irreverent.

Every defense has its holes. Name of the game is a chess match between DC and OC in how many hats ur dedicating to the run vs playing coverage…etc. it’s ongoing during every game.

No defense will ever be a catch 22 stop everything bc that’s why coordinators get paid millions to make in-game adjustments.

O yea, most definitely…I just hate covering grass man lol. It’s working so far, so hopefully it continues.

Flipped the script. Last year I would be surprised if we didn’t allow a score each drive. This year, exact opposite. I was ****ed we allowed 3 points yesterday. lol. What a hire.

he is awesome.

But to be fair look at the talent we added to that Defense:

Keonte Scott should have been a Thorpe finalist

Jacobe Thomas - first team all acc

Zach Poyser - freshman AA last year

X Lucas- big strong cover corner

Toure- experienced tackling machine

Blay- nice college DT

Plus the development of being a year older for Scott, Blount, Lightfoot, and the evolution of Moten who balled out all year.

This personnel is light years better than last year.
If Hethermen had James and Kam and the guys we had then our defense would’ve been much better then too. Our guys are amazing but the coach is putting them in a position to be successful too

Fair point but just because you have talent doesn’t mean you’re automatically going to be a good coach…

Brian Kelley, James Franklin and others are examples of that…

You still need the maestro to coordinate and manage the orchestra…

Heatherman is exactly what we needed for the talent that we have…

agree I can't stand watching players cover grass. Its not any defense I played in, zone always turned to man
Agreed but if guys underneath are getting in throwing lanes, it gives more time for the backend to recover (see Bryce Fitzgerald’s 6 picks). That last pick yesterday, may go unnoticed but from my vantage point, Chase Smith got in the throwing lane forcing Reed to put some air on it instead of driving it, giving Bryce time to recover and pick it off. As long as we got 11 hats to the ball, idc

Smith was certainly in the throwing window, which forced a softer layered pass that allowed Bryce to jump it 100%

Most important Corey since the 80s…
