Corey Hetherman

This is an elite defense… you can be good with his jimmies and joes but he seems to be getting the best out of this unit which is a testament to knowing what he has and putting them in positions to succeed

Scott and Thomas have looked better than the kid who transferred from bama to OSU
In the days of rings our D would just look at each other and that look would speak volumes of intensity never over reacting because it’s FLEETING oh so FLEETING.

Very little conversation at all just FOCUSING letting it intensify in the hitting no matter how the play is defended doesn’t matter the intensity increases till the game is in SLOW MOTION.

It’s very hard to explain this level of, our kids have achieved the ZONE of play that Zach Thomas speaks of being unstoppable in FIELD PRESENCE, you’re actually in the opponent’s huddle.

WE HAVE REACHED THAT LEVEL

I have that same feeling about this team, having watched that growth and intensity steamroll the end of season and into the playoffs. My caution is anointing that accomplishment prematurely. Believe me it’s there, it’s real, it’s palpable,.. but do we have the consistency to carry it to the next challenge on a bigger stage as each opportunity presents itself. I believe they can, but I’m not lacing and strapping up, they are. And for the first time in 25 yrs, Yes we can and Yes we will. 🙌🏽 GOCANES

Was just sitting on this but Ik there was doubt about Heatherman’s scheme and how it’s a little bit more bend, not break, but I’ll also point out our guys have eyes on the qb at most all times, which leads to many more turnovers. So what we give in yards we get back in turnovers. B-Fitz leads P4 and barely even plays. Jakobe has a few, Keionte has a few. Playing man all day is great to limit yards, but it’s extremely difficult to play man and force turnovers. B Fitz getting one early and getting into Sayin’s head early would be big. Remember he’s a first year starter and hasn’t faced any adversity in his career yet

It’s exciting to watch how creative Hetherman is when bringing pressure. These are the same things he was doing at Minnesota that had me convinced he would turn this defense into a dominant unit. Seeing it in action is a thing of beauty. Miami finally has a Miami defense.

I knew we were going to win after this sack. They were doing that against a fresh OL…think that was play 3 for them. If they aren’t blocking us when they’re fresh, they aren’t blocking us in the 4th quarter

Same

Day on the sideline thinking “ok it’s 3rd and long gotta account for Bain and Mesidor”

OL “gotta account for Bain and Mesidor”

Heatherman: “hold my beer”

I do think Ohio State’s arrogance played a part in their demise, as often happens. They really thought they could just line up and beat us. A&M did to an extent as well. I don’t think Ole Miss will think that. That’s why I wanted to play Georgia. Hetherman will need to learn from the SMU and UL games for this one. They are much more like them than OSU or TAMU

That’s fair but honestly I watched a lot of OSU this year. Day and Hartline are whack. Day was everything our fans hate about Dawson only worse

I just wasn’t sure how much of an advantage we had in the trenches until it happened

Once I saw us pushing them around on both sides I knew we had it if we didn’t implode

Same kinda thing this week. My gut says Ole Miss is great but also theyve been feasting on the overhyped SEC defenses

Couple more days we are gonna find out. Fantastic matchup tbh
