Coordinators - The U

Luke can’t even beat out Emery and and we have no idea what Coleman will do on a college level

It seems this staff leans on their evals at the HS level and prefers to spend top QB $$$ in the Transfer Portal; if they strike gold along the way they'll "develop"/(pay) their own kid to stay.

In years past you could have quality QB2 or even QB3, but in 2025 kids aren't going to sit around and wait. In fact, If you look at the top teams over the last few years they're littered with transfers.

I don't know about you, but I look forward to seeing Luke's development and Colman's talent in the Spring.

I like Dawson. Instead of trying to get rid of him, it would be great to hire an Analyst who can help him craft better run/screen game designs, and/or an Analyst to improve his in-game play call sequencing. At this point, I'm on board with keeping whoever is working with our Kickers/Punters, but replacing, or reducing their role in coverage/return coordination. Our special teams has been average-to-below-average since Mario has been here...at some point it would be nice to have that as a strength....too many guys on our team were legitimate return threats for us to have 0 S/T returns for a TD on the whole year.

Dawson has been here 3 years and his offenses have mostly produced very well unless the qb is hurt or trash. Not his biggest fan but I would be trying to keep him, we have alot of young talent and a scheme change could hurt them

I also remember him getting slander and guidry getting praise after one year then the opposite the year after, so it’s not surprising heatherman wears the crown on here now after we have played a bunch of mid offenses and dawson has to go

JT is replaceable, lets not forget he was part of the last year failed defense

Unless our guys (as in OC/DC) go pro, it looks like we may have significant coaching stability in 2026.

Heatherman has to be coordinator of the year.

Mario should be head coach of the year.

Dawson may not win accolades but he should get a nice pay increase - what he did with Beck mid season is just as valuable as what Heatherman has brought to us.

It takes a village….and ALL our coaches, especially the DL and DBs coaches need their flowers.

Get the **** out of here this morning **** ****, JT was part of a failed defensive scheme and should’ve got as much blame as the previous defensive coordinator but you Miami Dolphins slurpers couldn’t bring yourself to it
Brother I would sacrifice a dolphins title and a Heat title for a hurricanes title.

That being said it was well known Guidry was calling the bull**** stunts and jt wasn’t happy.

LOL, you know the dc sets the scheme. Or don't you?

JT was not coaching the scheme he wanted to. He now is showing the kind of coach he is when he's aloud to coach his way. Just take the L and move on.

You spelled Heatherman wrong.

y’all blamed last year’s DC for the defensive line performance but want to give JT all the praise for this year. Damian Lewis is just as much a success this year as JT.
Heatherman gets a lot of praise from us, but JT deserves praise too because he has coached up and helped make this d line as dominant as it is.

I don’t have time to be going back-and-forth with this all day

JT deserves any praise that comes his way this year, but he also failed last year

Corey Heatherman, JT and Damien Lewis have made a fine defensive coaching unit this year

Do everything to keep Heatherman.

Hopefully some school realizes the amazing work Dawson has done with the offense and hires him.

I wouldn't blame JT for the failures under Guidry, but why anyone here assumes JT is ready or capable of calling a top 10 defense aside from being a HOF DE is beyond me. One doesn't mean the other is a sure thing.

I wouldn't feel comfortable handing over a top 5/10 defense to a novice play caller, and if we did I wouldn't expect the results to be similar or close to what Hetherman has produced this year.

If Hetherman leaves, then you go out and hire another stud DC who has experience.

The only caveat here would be if JT has been instrumental in the defensive scheme and game planning this season, and has been a primary reason for Hetherman's schematic success. However, I don't think that is likely the case.

The next phase of the Miami program under Mario has to be the development of staff personnel. With success comes staff departures (usually hired to better gigs - head coaching spots, NFL, etc.), and to hedge against this volatile turnover, we need to make sure we have personnel ready (if needed) to step up and produce.
