Mother of Miami's Izundu to finally see son play

The mother of Miami center Ebuka Izundu is visiting from Nigeria and will get to see him play in a basketball game for the first time on Tuesday against Pittsburgh.

This is a really nice story for an athlete that just plugged away and improved game by game.

Ebuka has really had a nice season. We really couldn't have asked for more from our only true "big."

Ebuka has improved through practice and earned his playing time. Thank you for all of your hard work and effort this season.

SOOOOOO many people were upset about taking him as a transfer from UNC Charlotte after their coach left, too. Credit to the staff for seeing the potential he had, and letting him develop behind Jekiri.

We've had a bunch of good guards, and Coach L's offense is heavy on perimeter scoring, but we've produced some good big men during Coach L's tenure as well. Not NBA good, really - but college good.

This is a cool moment but I may be wrong or I could be thinking differently but the NCAA or schools should pay for international players parents to come to see their son or daughter play every year.
