Lance Leipold. HC at Wisconsin Whitewater. In 7+ seasons at that school his record is an unreal 100-6. He's won 5 National Championships in 7 seasons. He's the fastest HC ever to 100 wins at any level of college football.
With the recent success of HS coaches in high-level D1 football (Malzahn, Briles, Pruitt, and Chad Morris come to mind immediately), I wonder why a guy who is currently enjoying unprecedented success in college football can't be successful at the FCS Power 5 level. I'm of the mindset that if you can get incredible results (e.g. total domination in the form of 5 NCs in 7 years and a 100-6 record) at a lower level of football that means it can translate to higher levels. In other words, if you can coach you can coach.
Keep in mind that I'm talking about guys who have had extraordinary success at lower levels like Malzahn, Briles, Pruitt, Morris and Leipold. I'm not talking about guys who have had decent success.
