Irish Set to Battle Hurricanes with Title Aspirations on the Line

  • Heading into the final ACC weekend of the regular season, the Irish have a number of opportunities ahead of them as they take on Miami in Coral Gables.
  • The matchup pits the division leaders against each other as they play out the final three games of the regular season.
  • The Irish (.625) hold a slim percentage lead over Louisville (.611) in the Atlantic Division and still have an opportunity to win the league outright. The Irish trail the Hurricanes (.667) and Hokies (.640) in the overall league standings.
  • Miami holds the all-time series with a 21-7 mark and this will be the first time the two teams have played each other since the 2018 season.
  • This is Notre Dame’s third trip to the state of Florida this season. They opened the season at the Hatter Classic in DeLand and went 2-1 on the weekend. In April, the Irish traveled to Tallahassee and swept the fifth-ranked Seminoles in a weekend series.
  • Miami enters the matchup after a 1-3 week in which they dropped two out of three on the road against Florida State and lost their midweek matchup with Florida Gulf Coast.
  • The Irish enter the matchup after a 3-1 week in which they took two out of three at home against Pitt and won their road midweek game against Northwestern.
  • Both teams are two of the best pitching teams in the ACC as they both rank in the top-five in ERA (ND – 2nd, UM – 5th), opposing batting average (ND – 1st, UM – 5th), strikeouts per game (ND – 2nd, UM – 4th) and walks allowed (UM 2nd, ND – 4th).
  • The two teams also have the best records in the ACC since the start of the 2020 season. The Irish have a league-best 43-19 (.694) record in ACC games in that span and the Hurricanes are second with a 41-24 (.631) record in conference games.

It goes without saying, but Miami needs to hit the ball this series. I'm not sure what has happened to YoYo at the plate as of late, but he has been a strikout machine over the last few games, and Kayfus has been relatively cold as well and Pitelli looks like he is trying to K half the time he is in the box. The whole team is cold, the clutch hitting is absent and the team has been having a tough time getting balls into the outfield when they need (hitting into double plays at the worst possible times) And for the love of God, Perez is an automatic out. I hope Romero is better, or they can give JD Jones a shot. He has to be better at the plate than Perez.

Our pitchers need to stop hemorrhaging runs first and foremost.

Yep, I flipped the script. A *** scandal in 2014. A cheating scandal in 2016. Jack Swarbrick linked to the Team USA gymnastics abuse scandal. Numerous NCAA infractions. The Fools(Gold)en Domers ain't fooling anyone. In Palm We Trust.
Don’t forget that kid that died because Brian Kelly had to have practice video in high winds

Rough RPI effects for the series:
We sweep: +75. That’s our current gap to 4th
Win 2 of 3: +25. About half our gap to 8th.
Lose 2 of 3: -30. Roughly our gap to 14th
Get swept: -85. Our current gap to 21st.

Turned on the VT Duke game to see Duke take a 9-5 lead. Took a 10 min shower, got out and the score was 10-9 VT the next half inning....

Or the girl that claimed ND player raped her and she got harrassed by other members of the team and fans until she killed herself. Brian Kelly let that happen too.
