Consider this about Lashlee...

Recruiting rankings rarely take into consideration a young man's work ethic and ability to learn. I'd put SMU's football IQ a **** of a lot higher than Miami's.

It seems like a really good hire. But this is also true. Lashlee is going to have to deal with a lower football IQ than he is used to.

I LOVE the hire. I think Lashlee is top notch, period. I just don't think anyone can do well if you can't instill discipline, and don't have a team smart enough to do simple things consistently.

But he'll never get that he helped create this garbage with his trinkets, forced celebrations and dance parties.
I would think (hope?) that he's not that tone deaf. I suspect he saw the spark the turnover chain brought and figure the other bling would do the same. If you're winning, you're having fun, so maybe if you're having fun, you're winning. He talked smack and expected Enos' offense to back it up. That's when everything went to sht.

If I was him, the bling gets packed up, there is no celebration allowed, and if the players miss it, that's their reward for getting to the ACCCG game.

I'd simply tell them, "If you want to wear rings, win championships. If you want to celebrate, celebrate wins." Manny has brought in a mindset of short term success. A big play gets you a trophy. A win? Meh, whatever.

There is simply too much focus on the splash, and not enough concern about the depth of the water in the pool.
