Ferman & Shodell spoke to his coach at Kennesaw Mt HS:

He’ll enroll early at Miami, and his coach thinks he can compete to start from Day 1.

“Connor projects very high to be in the mix early,” “He’s going to be an early enrollee and him getting on campus early will help in that regard. And he’s such a smart player.”

According to his coach, Lew’s best attributes aren’t just football skills. He’s also got a little of that legendary K.C. Jones temperament, for those that remember the old-time Miami center. Lew will do whatever it takes to win each rep.
“He’s an intense competitor, man,” “He’s one of those guys that he doesn’t get beat hardly ever, but when he does he takes it personal and gets revenge.”

- He’s a 330-pound power cleaner and has over 500 pounds as a max squat and over 400 in the bench press. He ran a 4.9 in the 40 at an Alabama camp.

- Lew started out at tackle as a freshman and started in 10 games. Midway through his sophomore season his coach asked him to move to center to help out the team and he willingly did it.
The change was made on a bye week, right before Lew's family was leaving for vacation, so the coach said he gave him a quick course in snapping. Lew practiced 100 times a day for 4 days while on vacation.

“He held his own against Myles Murphy (former 5-star who became a Clemson standout) that year,” his coach said. “That was impressive. He’s just wired differently, understands the game so well.”
