For moving into 4th place on the all time rushing list. He passed the ex-jet Curtis Martin in New York of all places. Just like a true Cane coming into your house and f'in things up. Plus his shoe string catch to pick up 19 yds on third down sealed the game for the Fins. Thanks Frank!! The HOF awaits.

That catch to ice the game was insane. The ball was inches above the ground and thrown pretty hard, too. Most WRs don't even make that catch.

And even at his age, Gore's style of running is lethal. He sees a crease immediately, hits it fast, and he's got 4-7 yards like it's nothing. He tends to do that after Drake just gashed the D for 10 yards, too. It's pretty demoralizing for the other team.

Y’all think he can catch Barry Sanders?

He would need about 1100 more yards

I don't think so. He'd need two more years to do it, and although I love Frank Gore, I really don't want him to stay in the league that long and retire before he becomes crippled the way Emmitt Smith is.

He has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, and considering his two ACL tears in college, the fact that he's even in the top 20, much less top 5 RB total yards is incredible.

I will believe to the day that I die, had he not gotten injured twice his time here, this discussion would be whether or not he could reach #1. I think he could've. Frank Gore pre-ACL was absolutely unstoppable. I always referred to him as a 'bunker buster'. He would hit the line of scrimmage full speed, you'd see a defensive lineman sprawl to the ground, and at the second level, he could turn up the heat. One of the best I've ever seen that could run between the tackles with quickness and vision and find the right gap. (Better than Emmitt, imo)

Imagine Portis stayed in Denver

If he comes back next year I think he could do it. The problem is he doesn't get enough carries to get 1100 yards in one season anymore. That would just leave Payton and Smith in front of him. Gore's definitely going into the hall. Given the problems that Edge's having getting in, I'm 60/40 on Gore going in 1st ballot. These voters are weird.

He’d have to play another year which he def can. Could we all take a moment and realize the Dolphins are 2-0 lol. I don’t have a favorite NFL team but I’m from Chicago and I know that the Dolphins have struggled over the years. Hopefully they have a solid season this year.

Incidentally, my all time team at RB would be:

1.) Frank Gore
2.) Barry Sanders
3.) Earl Campbell
3a.) Tie between John Riggins and Larry Csonka

(I still like the classic power running back that can wear a defense out)

1. Elite vision
2. Perfect RB build at 5'9 220
3. Superb burst/acceleration (I care about how a RB covers 10 yards a lot more than "long speed").

I'm also amazed after his two knee injuries that he's been do durable as a pro.

Had Gore not been injured in college he would have been a Top 5 pick in the 2004 draft. I am assuming he would have declared after his 3rd season at The U. The Canes would have had 3 picks in the Top 6-7 selections (ST and KW2 were the others). Might have beaten Ohio State, and maybe a three-peat in 2003 with Gore dominant and that defense.

What I loved about Gore was he didn’t remind you of anyone else.

My favorite reaction to a Gore run was his second long TD against West Virginia in 2001.

Chris Fowler said ‘he’s really really good’. It was the way he said it.

He's still a force. Great acceleration and surge into the pile. Dolphins still don't use him enough, like 3rd and 1 middle of the fourth quarter and Tannehill throws incomplete.

Unbelievable how Gore seems so indestructible now. Before that final injury with the Canes against West Virginia I was cringing every time he got the ball.

And next Sunday is an entirely winnable game, too. At home, 1pm start against a mediocre West Coast team....if Drake and Gore can't wear those guys down and rush for well over 100 again, it would be a disappointment.

Simply amazing considering the two major knee injuries he had in college.
If he has had this type of career with two bad knees just imagine the career he would’ve had had he stayed healthy.

Such an awesome achievement, for anyone - but compound its difficulty, with all that Frank has gone through, and it's even more amazing. What a Great Cane!!!!
