He is the first player that I can remember that went from the Hall of Very Good to a sure fire HOFer during his 30s at a position where 30 is basically the end of the line. Immortal.

Quite an an accomplishment. I don't see first time ballot, more likely years 3 to 5. He took a number of years more to get there and far more games with longer seasons. Either way, badass accomplishment and far more productive than I ever thought he would be with the early injuries in his career.
