I can understand complaints about Richt's offense (or lack thereof), his coaching style, his assistants, etc., but it is amazing to me that he is getting shade on here for disciplining his players. Unless you know he is doing it for no reason, but vindictiveness, what is wrong with punishing players for not following rules?

He feels it is part of his job description to help prepare these young men for life and to help them become the best they can be. Should he solely look at these players as a commodity to help him win games and not as human beings? I know it sounds altruistic, but I think it has had an effect on this team. There seems to be a lack of self-control especially from the younger players and this shows up on the field (false starts, dumb penalties, etc.).

I don’t think it’s about what they do or don’t win.I really think it’s about taking this antiquated system he has and proving to UGA that it was still a viable offense.I don’t think he’s here if he was told he couldn’t call plays.

Agreed. And it’s that same pig-headed stubborn ego that is going to set Miami back to the stone ages as far as a viable football program goes. Which is all the more reasoning why the fans need to keep the pressure on Richt, his son Jon, and whoever else is defending this abomination of an offense or who truly believe the program is on the way up. I don’t condone going after the players at all, that’s just has weak sister written all over it. They have to play in this sh** show, it’s not their fault the offense or the play calling is horrific at best. Richt says this is his most trying season ever...well that season and the offseason aren’t over. Not until he makes wholesale changes or if he won’t, then it will keep up until the stress of it all breaks him like a dry branch in the stale, cold winter.

Completly agree with this post very well said.

Maybe the lack of comtrol is on the coaches something that has developed in year 3.
