Well look I agree with you but they practice so much and the games have at least been close and the apologists would like it that way. Nick Saban as much as I hate the guy would most likely refuse to go to a third tier bowl game.

I started this thread and I am not happy at all. The recent onslaught of decommittments is deeply disturbing. And like I said our games were close so if the kids want to go to a third tier bowl game sobeit. But we are looking essentially at a dumpsterfire that cannot be ignored. That is the motivation to start the post.

Making a bowl game is probably viewed differently by coaches. I don't know how the rules work but it allows for extra practices which I assume helps a program going into spring.

That said, I think Saban is better aware and more willing to be honest with his own ego and change things to stay on top. Richt has shown to be far less readily aware and willing to adjust.

There's no excuse for the season we've had. It took losing our 2 TE's in a game to see what we can do with our skilled guys on offense, even with a terribly corched OL...and we should've had another 2 or 3 scores.

Not an apologist by far but not gonna act like a ***** after winning in Blacksburg where eve traditionally had a tough time playing. Do we need a OC still? 100% yes and I've been all for that. Would like to see Richt just over see everything and let an OC call the plays and the DC run the defense.

Players take after the personality of the head coach. Since Mork is a guy that is mediocre and his personality reflects that., players take after him.

A fair question. Do you really think Nick Saban would have accepted a third tier bowl game ? You know be would not. Same with Dabo or Urban Meir.

The standard is what it is. If the players really thought they were not playing up to the standard they would not be so eager to play in a embarrassing Bowl game based on the so called standard they are not living up to.
 
The reality wether people want to believe it is that Richt is ok with losing. Winning is not at the top of his list. His suspensions and putting people in the doghouse ie. Yearby and even JT didn’t start the game are just plain dumb.

Let this resonate for a minute. One of Bama’s best players last year was arrested for being passed out in a car with weed at 2 am on a Monday or Tuesday the week of a game. I believe he also had a gun. Guess how many snaps he missed.

College football is all about winning and you don’t believe otherwise you are naive. If you took an anonymous poll of every kid at schools in the AP Top 25, I’m willingly to bet 90% of them are there to play football and have NFL aspirations and could careless about school. It’s all about the money for those schools wanting to win, unfortunately it’s not like that at Miami.

Every coach that comes here even if there known as a recruiter is in for a rude awakening. U can be a **** of a recruiter in another conference that doesnt mean **** at the U where u go up against dogs on the trail. Recruiting at UM is the hardest place to recruit in the country period
