Congrats and Thank You Carson Beck

Sucks his last pass was an INT. But dude owns the coldest Miami scene of the last 25 years taking us the natty game. I’ll never speak bad on this kid’s name and what he did for this program.
Saved our asses. We went from no QB to a guy good enough to get us to the last game of the season.

Humongous for our trajectory and momentum. Had to have him when we did.

I’ll be honest, looking back on the season, I was probably a little too hard on Carson Beck.

When you really think about it, he played pretty well considering he didn’t have a true No. 1 receiver or an elite tight end, and he still helped lead the team to the title game. That says a lot.

And for the people who say, “What about Malachi?” I like Malachi, but let’s be real, he was not a No. 1 receiver yet. He was still a baby making plays off pure talent, heart, and athletic ability. He wasn’t at that stage where he fully understood how to use angles, set up routes, manipulate defenders, or use all those little veteran tricks that separate good receivers from elite ones.

That’s probably the stuff we’ll start seeing more of this season as he develops.

So when I look back at Beck’s year, I think he deserves more credit than I gave him at the time. He didn’t have a loaded group of weapons, but he still kept the offense moving and helped put them in position to compete at the highest level. For that alone, I respect what he did.
