Congats Guys

I was in South Bend for Catholics v Convicts. Sat next to a lovely Nun who wacked me numerous time with her umbrella(maybe because of the occasional smart comment from me). I am devout Catholic but dislike ND with passion, still I agree that it is good to have both teams up instead of down and would like ND in the ACC. Your school would do itself a favor by playing home and home with us every year. You got back to national stage only when you started playing us again in 2012. Playing teams you hate every year is a good thing.

We will take care of Bama for you, it will be the rubber NC game between us. Your team was a warm up for us against those big lumbering Olines and large power RBs so popular in SEC. We chase these sorts out of football 30 years ago and are about to once again.

Funny story about the nun. As an ND alum who goes to multiple games a year, I've actually never seen a nun on campus. Couldn't agree more about playing teams you hate. That's what makes college football special.

She was from a local Parrish not the university. I flew her down to Miami the next year to sit next to me in the OB (friend of mine is a Domer alum and we sued to give each other one of our seats for the away game.) After the 3rd and 43 play, I smiled at her, she hit me again. Nuns, got to love them. I went to a Redemptorists elementary school and always loved the good Sisters. Pax tecum, Irish.

Props to you for coming on board. I think a lot of us, while we knew ND was pretty good, knew what the rest of the country failed to realized - despite our close wins, we KNEW we had scary good talent especially on defense. When we showed signs of putting everything together against VT, I think the team turned a switch to get to the next level.

Anyway, shame on you for not taking us seriously and letting the close wins and media cloud your judgement rather than look at the VT team as evidence of which team would show up.

You should have also realized yourself that hyping yourself up to the degree you did based on the fact that your best player is a LG should have made you suspect you had flaws. If your best players are a LG and LT, you’re not going to win against big time talent.

I also think your fan base underestimated our home crowd, which many of us knew would be nuts

By the way, I know all these message boards have the clowns, so it doesn't really deserve a reply, but I get such a kick out of the anti-Catholic and "diddling kids" stuff on here. I guess these folks don't realize the Miami is arguably the most Catholic city in the US? LOL. Anyways, all good, I won't bother you guys any more. Good luck the rest of the way.

Heck, we know that. I always thought the shirt was calling you guys Convicts, since we had more Catholics on the team back then.

Guilty as charged on all points you mentioned, no doubt about it.

Lol good point. You probably know this but 90% of ND fans hate the shirt. That's not what ND is about, just as your school/team isn't a bunch of convicts. A few smart *** kids make a shirt 30 years ago and it took on a life of its own.

Go **** yourself

Props for taking the L like a grown *** man, instead of vanishing like many of your brethren (and many of our little commandos have done in the past, too).

Life tip for ND in the future: Taking Miami lightly is a poor strategy. We've made it easy to forget that these past, oh 15 years or so, but...

Every game in college football needs an underdog, and the world as a whole needs a villain. We excel at both.

I can't wish you luck the rest of the way, because I really don't give a Shiite about ND save for once in a while, but I will say congratulations on not being a Gator. That's a really big deal.

the guy was selling shirts and it was a brilliant shirt. Game wouldn't have been the same without the shirt.

So, I guess ND has none. Lol sorry.

As you can tell by my handle, I'm an ND fan. I've been reading this board a bit throughout the week as I always like to see what the other side is thinking before a big game. I have to admit, I was fully drinking the kool-aid that ND was as good as their ranking and completely dismissing Miami as a pretender based solely on the close games you've played to date against unranked teams for the most part. I must say, boy was I wrong. What I witnessed last night was an *** kicking as bad or worse than the one Alabama put on ND in that very same stadium in the National Championship game back in January 2013. The Canes are lightning fast, loaded with talent, and undoubtedly the real deal. I hadn't watched hardly any of your previous games, so shame on me for doubting your squad.

I wish you guys the best of luck the rest of the way. While I know this "rivalry" has some hatred on both sides, I think it's wonderful for college football to have both teams relevant again (though not sure ND is relevant after what I witnessed last night). I think it's only a matter of time before ND joins the ACC in football and wow what a conference that would be with Miami back to the elite status, VA Tech back to a perennial top 15-20 team, and ND consistently ranked, to compete with has for the last few years more or less been a Clemson/FSU battle.

You guys deserve every bit of the gloating that you are doing on this board, because the media and certainly the ND fan base doubted your team and said you didn't belong, but it was clear last night one team didn't belong and it wasn't Miami. Good luck and close the deal and bring home a Natty.

Not playing in a Conference Champ game is going to cost ND an opportunity at the playoffs. I hope ND joins the ACC and plays in the Coastal. That would be sick.

People talk about that shirt like it was a swastika or Robert E. Lee statue, but in reality, it's a decent piece of college football history that made the rivalry of the day even bigger.

At some point it may cost us, but you guys solved that problem for us this year.

As a die hard,.. I seldom have any emotion for anything non "cane" related, but I can still appreciate sportsmanship!! Thank you for the well wishes, and we look forward to seeing you guys in the ACC, as we can play a bit more often!! You can never have enough true, passionate, rivalries!! Thanx for stopping in, and good luck!!

Good for you to take your licks and accept defeat with class and dignity. Don't mind the idiots here.

Lurking here for the past week I’m certain you knew some of the responses your post would elicit. You had the balls to post it anyway so big props to you! Thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot to long timers who are starving for past glory. Not gonna lie I despise a lot of the hypocrisy that is notre dame. With that being said your welcome here in my book. Thanks for your time.

First off, props for coming over here after last night’s beat down.

Second, when, not if, you come into the ACC, you’ll probably come into the Atlantic Division, not the Coastal. I don’t think TPTB would want our two schools in the same division.
