MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

Also if the 19 team hardcap with 5 years independence prior to joining remains in place when bill passes (dont think it will), miami isnt 19 for the BIG. BIG10 wont cap out their conference without ND in the fold.
The 19 cap won't survive the House. The conferences approving the Senate bill was step one in getting something done ... with Trumps push. The House will have THEIR reaction to the P2 conference objections and either modify or remove the P4 conference membership cap. Even if they don't you can expect schools that WANT to move (with conference approval already agreed to) to announce their intent prior to the bill being signed by the president. B10 wants 24. Nobody wants 19.

When this bill is on the House floor for a vote in its current form I’ll worry. The P2 Conferences will have more input in that chamber to bump the cap up.

Even still, no cloture. Senate gonna come back from recess, vote, and then have it pass through the House before the end of the session? Doubtful on that.

1 spot left in B1G
3 spots in the SEC.

My guess is we get the last B1G spot.
SEC gets Clemson, fsu, UNC.

We could flip conceivably flip spots with UNC and they go B1G while Miami goes SEC. No chance fsu or Clemson get looked at for b1g given their academics. The one wild card is Duke- their academics and basketball program make them attractive to both conferences as well.
Big ten stuck at 19 will not add anyone at that unmanageable scheduling number unless it is Notre Dame. SEC only would go to two for same reason absent a creative solve the acc can't find at 17 and 19 is worse actually.

The only thing the entire college football world needs to know is that all this crap / government involvement is brought to us by Nick Satan in an effort to maintain power. Nothing the government does is a winner. We have to fight all of this with every voice we have. All the signs are there, nothing that happens at midnight in congress is a good thing. When you have Big & Sec signing off on it at last hour, tells it all.

Does there need to be change, perhaps but this ain’t it.

There’s 15 legislative days left in the House Calendar before the midterms. No shot this gets passed in that amount of time. Also that 19 number is going to be changed via amendment.
right. people also said this was dead in the sentat like 6 times in the last 3 weeks

i think you should be at least a bit worried. probably right but this has taken strange turns and they could get it passed if they really want to and Trump pushes them- they jump more for him than the senate does
I dont see how this is being overlooked, it literally went from dead to fast tracked late friday night with all types of revisions and miami is not beneficiary of any of this, ACC basically has no seat and just with a neutered tv 360 deal..

I got a really bad feeling about all of this. We don’t have a ton of leverage in this situation. And no one wants to deal with Miami as a powerhouse in the sport. Could very easily get boxed out of realignment in some sort of collusion-type manner.

I wonder if there is a chance Trump makes some form of this law via executive order. That would open it up to change by the next administration but it could be a path to land this if congress can't get it done.

Btw... I hate the 19 cap. It's the worst of all worlds for the upper echelon ACC teams. Less spots than deserving teams.
Executive Orders aren’t laws. They still have to get passed through Congress

Don’t stress, rad moves is silence myriad
