Spot on per usual my friend…

Absolutely no need to join a conference with a pot of gold and it’s all yours…

Yeah; again, ppl don’t know me so I get it…but, if I’m dogmatic & I keep posting the same thing it’s for a VERY good reason.

This ND + conference rumor is not some new phenomenon; conferences have been trying to get ND to join for yrs whether it was The Old Big East or Big 10. The ACC & Big East both bent the knee to ND hoping by allowing some of their non-revenue generating sports to be apart of their leagues, they’ll all of sudden say “sure, we’ll join.”

If I am not mistaken, ND has a contract with the ACC where it agreed that as a condition of being allowed to affiliate in all sports other than football, if it ever decides to join a conference it can only join the ACC. I don’t know the penalty or if there is a buyout, but I don’t think they can join any other conference even if they wanted to.

@RossDellenger

SEC and Big Ten have requested additional language to a cap circumvention provision in the Protect College Sports Act that could result in their support, sources tell @YahooSports.

Many university presidents in both leagues support the bill if these changes are made.

Exactly!

And it’s maddening because everyone bends over backwards for them jokas…

What the heck have they won?! Absolutely nothing but they keep cashing them checks…

How can you stop a third party from making NIL deals?

Limiting how much money someone can make in endorsements seems illegal

Can someone else opine on this?

It is illegal. A lot of what's done in politics is for optics. The politicians including Trump know it's illegal and will be struck down by the courts. But, as long as they can go back to their base and blame someone else it's a win win for politicians and athletes.

We sunk ..yet??

1 spot left in B1G
3 spots in the SEC.

My guess is we get the last B1G spot.
SEC gets Clemson, fsu, UNC.

We could flip conceivably flip spots with UNC and they go B1G while Miami goes SEC. No chance fsu or Clemson get looked at for b1g given their academics. The one wild card is Duke- their academics and basketball program make them attractive to both conferences as well.

I believe it is all set for UM to announce at some time before the president signs the bill into law. Also believe the conferences will be pushing to have the 19 member cap modified when the bill is in the House. 19 is just a bad number for scheduling. The prospect of having that limit could also push programs to announce before it becomes law. "Miami and UVA announce their planned joining of the B10 conference for the 2028 season".

The odd number of 19 was set to leave open the option for one specific school to move to the Big Ten, and that one school ain’t Miami.
