I love the B12 refs. They treated us like every other team and let us play.

What is the government doing right now that would speed up teams jumping to the p2?

It’s an ego thing. We’re Notre Dame and we don’t need a conference because we’re bigger than that. Well, pretty soon they won’t be and they won’t be able to schedule quality teams because they’ll all be in the P2

A Big 12-ACC merger (for the top dogs only) would be a cool backup plan.

Imagine a world where you had the following teams in one conference:

Miami
Clemson
FSU
UNC
Duke
VT
UVA
GT
SMU
Texas Tech
TCU
Houston
BYU
Utah
Oklahoma State
Arizona
Arizona State
Colorado

Would be cool. Add in a ND and you’re cooking.

The BIG 10 refs throw fewer flags than any other conference.
9 of the top 10 least penalized teams in CFB in '25 were from the BIG 10. That CAN'T be because all those teams play 'clean'.
Yet, we get hit with a targeting call that keeps our starting db out of the first half or the Natty, smh.

Lucas turns his head to the left just before the tackle....but he "lunged".
Someone has to explain to me how you run from point A to point B (to tackle) without forward momentum.

Not sure it was so much ego as it made sense. For years they had a sweetheart deal any school would take given the opportunity. Your own lucrative TV package, sweetheart deal with a conference to play their teams, take their bowl game spots and some money, and your own path to the playoff. But, the money from P2 payouts has skyrocketed to the level it can't be replaced by another tv deal.

Seriously? The prospect of the PROTECT COLLEGE SPORTS ACT enacting regulations that require conferences to pool media revenue and or possibly limit or prohibit schools from changing conferences has been cited by many people watching college football landscape changes as THE factor that could force the P2 to accelerate their realignment plans in order to have them accomplished PRIOR to any new regulations being enacted.

Looks like an ugly conference with no national appeal and one ND would never consider being a part of. I would only watch a B12 football game if there was nothing on TV period. For Miami it is P2 or bust.

I’d rather be in the other two as well. And I’m not saying this is going to happen, either.

But that conference is top to bottom on par with the other two conferences in terms of quality and competitiveness.

Thanks. I don’t really follow it. This whole think about government involvement to stop schools from changing conferences sounds like an overreach.

Yormark and his crew are out there hustling, doing conference-wide agreements likely to overlap existing sponsorships the sales teams at Learfield and Playfly have put in place with individual Big XII schools. Guess it's close the deal now, worry about the lawsuits later, lol.

I still like Yormark, though. He knows the the Big XII needs to claw and scratch for every available dollar to better compete with the SEC and B1G, so as commissioner he's doing what his schools need him to do
