Flugaur made his predictions today for schools Nos. 17-20 and Nos. 19-22 in the B1G.

B1G: UVA, ND, Canes and GA Tech

SEC: UNC, Clemson, FSU and VA Tech.

Didn't provide any sort of clearcut timetable. Did keep repeating that he had about a 1% chance of being correct, which might be a bit high since Virginia and GT aren't gonna end up in the Big Ten.

Hopefully we won't either

(corrected twice ... thanks @TheOriginalCane

I get the feeling Miami is very high on B1G list, if for no other reason, UHealth.

First, UNC can't join two conferences.

Second, why would anyone claim that GaTech will not end up in the Big 10? Absolute rock-solid fit.

Third, the Big 10 already has 18 teams. So this would be teams 19-22 for the Big 10.

What you posted doesn't make a lot of sense.

I mistakenly listed UNC to the B1G ... Flugaur has UVA going to the B1G, not the Heels.

I think GT is going to the SEC. We'll see what happens.

The next round of expansion will depend on two things.

One is "how committed" the Big 10 will be to a southern strategy. I get why they would take ND first. But after that, the Big 10 really needs to land 5 southern schools if they want to be any sort of counter-programming threat to the SEC in the southeast.

The second issue is how pusillanimous the SEC will be. The conference has a long history of "only" taking 2 teams at a time. We know the SEC covets UNC and UVa. If that is ALL that the SEC does, then it will allow the Big 10 to (almost) have its way in the southeast, with the exception of UNC, which will definitely choose to join the SEC.

Those are the two primary drivers for the next round of musical chairs. I highly doubt that those two conferences will take an equal number of teams. And you can bet your bottom dollar that once each conference picks its first 2 schools, a bunch of other universities will offer up their buttholes for a "half-share" monetary deal.

It's gonna happen, and soon.

Too much beer and not enough sleep? Or too much sleep and not enough beer? It's one or the other.

Those brain farts aside, I've been consistent the last couple years in suggesting the SEC and B1G will both end up with 24 schools (25 could work, too, if the P2 goes from 9 to 10 conference games)

I think UNC, UVA, FSU, Clemson, NC State, VA Tech, GA Tech and Duke will end up in the SEC. I believe Miami and WVU could end up in the SEC.

I also believe Mizzou will jump to the B1G like they wanted to back in 2011 prior to settling for the SEC. Big Ten also will take KU, ND, Cal and Stanford. Miami could end up in that 24 as well as all know (and many here seem to prefer). Colorado and/or ASU could fill out the additions depending on what happens with the Canes

It's gonna happen, and soon.

Agree.

If enough progress is made by congress on passing legislation to give teeth to NCAA rules, we could see ACC schools announcing their departures by this coming June in order to move to the SEC or B1G by Fall 2027. Wouldn't be shocked by that at all.
