Lane has the perfect storm at LSU. They are spending at unprecedented levels, he's got a strong reputation and momentum. He "fits". Totally different situation from Brian Kelly, who never made sense.

That said, it's 50/50 he doesn't blow it all up his nose or chasing tail. With that much money guaranteed, he can always check out whenever he wants like Norvell.

I still think he pulls it off and is one of the top 5 teams, along with Miami, over the next 5-10 years. His rise will definitely hurt Bama and Georgia. Those two programs are already fading with Miami's rise, and Lane will give them a push.
