Enough of these idiots have died over the years that many (probably most by now) states actually have laws criminalizing hazing. I consider it natural selection, but the politics can make it a police problem now. Those cops showed up for the fire alarm, saw this ****, and thought, "****, now I have to deal with these stupid ********."

Me either. I had no problem in college making friends or meeting girls on my own without getting tortured or having things shoved up my a$$ or potentially dying from alcohol poisoning but some dudes love it. I had friends in Lamda Chi at UM and they didn't do the *** sh*t to pledges but made them do the grossest sh*t. I never understood the appeal from either side.
 
A lot has happened since the start of this thread. How likely is Miami to benefit financially from moving from the ACC into the B10 or SEC, presuming the current payment structure remains the same?

Similar to Miami moving BigEast->ACC, the revenue sharing went from those who earned it to sharing as a whole conference.

Military has plenty of light hazing but it’s most of the time fun lol some stuff these dudes do is down right puzzling, they were just in the basement shirtless and blindfolded? Like zombies in that Will Smith movie? Lol

Hazing in the military or a Service Academy?
I never saw any hazing, though, maybe it is/was branch specific.

Air Force I’ve seen some light hearted hazing. Like when you’re a new maintainer you’re send to supply to request dumb **** like ‘need a foot of flightline’. But mostly stuff like a going away haze, dude would get tied up to a chair and all the old condiments from the break room fridge would be dumped on him. There’s others too that aren’t coming to mind. Probably some good hazing being a new guy in Korea to welcome you to Soju

Is hazing related to conference realignment because us being in the ACC is a form of hazing?

Got it.
Ex USAF as well. We would send a newbie to supply to get cloud eradicator for aerial photos.
Just never considered it hazing as we never tied anyone up or anything, just wasted their time on embarrassing errands.

Never happened to me, unless you count being a designated driver my first night in Germany and having to drive 6 drunk guys back from a ***** house, in the middle of the night, in a VW microbus stick shift without a 2nd gear from a town 30 clicks away with no ******* clue where I was, and no USAREUR drivers license.
