@Rellyrell brought me around to having our own stadium for revenue reasons, but HRS has set expectations high and to match that would be expensive and having one on campus is just this side of impossible.

As the campus is NOW, that may be a valid conclusion.

I have frequently given the address of the ideal stadium location.

Douglas and NW 7th Street. Both the north and south side of NW 7th Street.

Yes, @Okefenokee Cane told me!

Pretty soon, Athens is going to lose all of its charm and be no better than Gainesville. ☹️

lol. I saw that and deleted my comment and just now seeing you responded.

I’ve lived in Athens for a good little while and have seen the transition from old Athens to the Athens of now. A lot of the people who make Athens, Athens, are still here, but yes a good bit of the charm and grittiness of old Athens is gone and I do miss it.

lo what the **** was he doing?

at this point, im pretty sure we live in a simulation

Bro was simply slapping hands w the fans & he jumped to slap one hand & landed wrong. He immediately started limping, tried to push through engaging w more fans & collapsed complaining about his leg. Staff came over & bro couldn’t walk.

Jesus. we def live in a simulation

Well the only two incidents I can think of is what happened to both Chicago Bear’s DE Lamarr Houston & Detroit Lion’s DE Stephen Tullock. Both were celebrating sacks, & a simple jump & land blew out their knees on non-contact injuries.

These guys r putting so much force on their ligaments play after play that sometimes just a simple push off jump & land, celebrating, can cause their legs to explode. I cringe EVERY time I see this new habit of jumping into teammates to chest or back bump when celebrating. To us it seems minor, but to their bodies it’s literally Russian Roulette & we’ve seen guys get injured from this.

Didn’t Bubba Bolden blow his knee because one of our guys jumped into him to celebrate and he wasn’t expecting it?

Also, I still think of the Grammatica brother who blew his ACL jumping around like a fool after hitting a 1st quarter FG. I think it was 3-0.

Yep, totally forgot about both & neither were the same again.

Yeah, that area hasn’t built up like the town east of it have, which depending on your perspective, could be good or bad. Everything right along 400 is suburbia now, and they’re even expanding it past Forsyth County.
I honestly haven’t been back but maybe twice since I graduated from Riverside in ‘06. There were nice pockets. I just remember the downtown Gainesville area stinking from all the chicken factories. Poultry capital of the US.
